The real tragedy in most Penn State's fans isn't that innocent kids were molested and lives ruined, but that JoePa was fired, died, as legacy tarnished along with the Penn State football program.

And I'm sure you can qualify this statement right? I'm glad to know that an Ole Miss fan personally knows the feelings and inner thoughts of approximately 165,000 alumni and the thousands of students attending PSU campuses.

The statue should and will come down in my opinion. This is going to be a slow process to allow the fans that oppose the upcoming decisions like this to process it. It's not very complicated to understand.

You're right. Personally I think the Germans should have fought to keep the swastikas and Hitler statues after they lost the war and learned that their Füher was a mass murdering evil psychopath who almost eliminated an entire race.

Bad example... in this case, doesn't the USofA =Paterno and Sandusky =Hitler? I mean, the US turned a blind eye to the mass murderer until it directly touched our country.

Tear down the monuments and erase from history any mention of the good ole USA.

No it doesn't. Just like every other story on the planet, the vocal minority is made up of wackos and they receive the press and are bold in other opinions. This isn't a new concept.

Penn state has a culture of enabling child rapists. That's what leaving the statue up indicates to me.

It's not just ESPN.

These articles aren't going to receive the same amount of press as the ones showing fans upset with the statue potentially coming down.

Spare me your bullshite. Yes I know that not all Penn State fans Re like this. My best friend in China is a Penn State alumni. But unlike these delusional clowns who still want that statue tainting their campus, he has pretty much gotten over football entirely and renounced his fandom.

That should be how a rational person should react instead of continuing to defend this piece of shite. The fact that he let kids be fricked in favor of a game that kids play on playgrounds should be incredibly disturbing and not continued to be worshipped. There is a disturbing amount of loyalty ad continual worship in Happy Valley that is just sickening.

You are the one that said " The real tragedy in most Penn State's fans" so how is what I posted bullshite. You're the one spouting bullshite you can't back up with facts.

In any situation, story, etc. you are going to have people like this. I don't care about the football program with this story, but rather making sure the victims are taken care of, and how the university plans to prevent this from ever happening again. You saying that most PSU fans feel a certain way is disingenuous and incorrect.

Do you ever watch the news? Some of you are acting like you've never seen this phenomena before. Yes the ones they are showing, the emails, and some posts show the craziness of a minority of the fans. These people are delusional.

So where exactly are the rational fans to shout down these idiots and take back the reputation of the fanbase?

eta:they don't exist

That's exactly what it's fricking saying. It's saying what he did for their brutal tag team was more important than him letting the kids getting raped. That statue is going to become a huge liability on home games and will be destroyed one way or another. Penn State better do it before some guy gets out a mallet and does it for them. If and when this happens, Penn State's reputation will forever be beyond repair as the university that tolerates people who harbor pedophilia. I don't even want to think what it will mean if they build it back.

Quietly working to bring awareness to this issue and help prevent it from happening again. You are ignorant and wrong.

If I post any comment from Penn State fans, you'll say that's the minority, even if I provided you with 10,000 of them. I get that you're getting defensive because this is your alma mater and that you don't think the way these boars do, but it's still an alarmingly high number that do.

My previously mentioned friend says that hardly any of his former classmates have come to terms with it, and still continue to defend JoePa. Granted I haven't talked to him since this report came out, but I have a feeling it hasn't changed.

You're spinning harder than Lil Paterno.People are aware of the issue, and the best way to prevent it is to not have a piece of shite worshipped like a god at your cult of a university. Why am I ignorant again, because I think child rapists and accomplices should be punished?

That's what it says to you.

To the delusional part of penn st.'s fan base they don't believe Joe did anything wrong so it in no way means anything about helping/harboring pedophiles.

This is true. And the only credible thing to come out of any of their mouths.

Let the statue stay. Joe's "legacy" has already been blown to shite.

Let the DECENT people who were/are a part of that university and DIDN'T frick a little boy in the arse have their statue.

Let people protest. Let people talk. Let it stand as a reminder of how NOT to save face and handle a molester.
