I haven't seen anything from PSU Harrisburg about any of this....

my auditor instincts are telling me that there is more to come...and the shite will really hit the fan if anything connecting some of the second mile people with sandusky's proclivities comes out....

I'm surprised you didn't get the email. I got it around 2pm but the path is not shown. It shows being sent to all alumni though. Do you still have an active PSU email?

<---- Hershey

Strange though that you didn't receive it. I can't post the whole thing if you'd like to read it.

I always find it fascinating how technology made this world that much smaller. I'm a Louisiana born and raised native and went to PSU after undergrad. It's why this story puts me in a unique spot. I'm still an LSU football fan and never really got into PSU sports.

It is comming down one way or the other the only question is will it be legal or illegal. Hope Penn State choses the legal way before some crackpot takes it down illegally

I'm confident they will remove it. If not they will have to deal with the problems it would create.

Did Smeal exist when you went? Both Smeal and Harrisburg have ranked MBA programs.

I just reread that you posted accounting. I have no idea why I thought MBA. Whoops.

This was another discussed today on a different forum I was reading. If not, opposing fans will destroy it.

Maybe the BOT is hoping for that outcome. Then they can have it both ways. The statue is gone, but they didn't remove it. Then they can hem and haw over whether to put it back up.

You know I have always hated USC and pretty much liked PSU.

But at least I didn't have to listen to USC fan defend OJ's "good things" he did over the one bad thing. Who would have frickin known. USC fans had perspective. But apparently JoePa was Andy Griffith, Albert Einstein, Dwight Eisenhower, and Billy Graham all rolled into one, and deserves unmitigated respect. Who knew?

Good Lord.

I can't believe they would want the liability of keeping it on their property.

People will be dumping paint and trying to wreck it for eternity if they leave it up which will lead to idiots defending the statue and getting hurt.

Seems to me the best situation would be to ask the family where they want it moved and if they decline then destroy it.

Keeping it up will cause far more long tern negativity than taking it down.

Right now, Penn St.has Barney Fife guarding it but that won't last forever. I can see some Pitt students, down the road, having some fun with it; beyond that, I doubt any of the local cool aide drinkers will vandalize it. And as for the comment bout JoPa taking police complaints against his players "seriously", go back & read bout the Vice President of Student Affairs who was fired when she tried to assert her authority in that period when 11-16 or so players were getting arrested.

why would you want it down? it serves as a constant reminder of what happened, which is why they'll take it down.
