No. 5 Oklahoma has lost star running back Rodney Anderson for the rest of the season due to a knee injury suffered against UCLA on Sunday. The school announced the news Sunday evening.

"We're heartbroken for him," said Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley in a statement. "He's overcome so much in his career, and if anybody can do it again it's Rodney. He's played a lot of great football and has a lot more ahead of him. He's just a tremendous person and player and we'll miss him on the field.

Yeah but Anderson was probably going to the top RB taken in April. Huge blow.

Really feel bad for this young man. He had a hell of a game against UGA last year in the semi, he's a really good running back. Hopefully he can make a full and speedy recovery.

That sucks for them, but they've still got Kyler M. who has been a best for them

Plug and play. That’s like Bama losing a LB or DL, they are just fine

They still have Murray and Riley’s offense. It doesn’t matter who’s at RB. They are still favored by double digits in every game

Yeah, no.

Really sucks for the guy. He's been VERY UNLUCKY with injuries.

all this means is they will get Kyler more involved and thats scary

They also have a few 5 star RBs to take his place. I hate it for him, but saying this is bad for OU is an overstatement.

I feel bad for Anderson, but the offensive performance won't drop off much at all. Sermon actually won the starting job last season before Anderson got hot. They also have Sutton, Pledger, and Brooks behind Sermon.
