I feel like all the college towns are either in the middle of nowhere or in shitty cities.
In the Pac 12, you have Seattle, the Bay, LA, Phoenix and Salt Lake. Even down here in Tucson, it's a 1 million metro area.
Austin is a big city with a lot to offer. TCU is in DFW. GT is Atl, Miami is Miami metro. It's pretty common.

I can almost guarantee that the coaches put them in a SUV with heavily tinted windows and full of coeds to distract them any time they go off campus.
BR is a shithole.

I picked Alabama A&M as a joke b/c of all the LSU fans who say Texas A&M fans worship Alabama.

The Pac is probably the most urban conference, though. Of the 6 states, 4 have colleges in their largest metro areas.
The SEC is sort of the opposite where it's maybe just Vandy. Then other conferences are a sprinkling, like Chicago/Northwestern in the Big 10 and the midsize cities like Tallahassee and Raleigh/Durham.

Yea I guess what I was getting at is.
Do people actually stay in those cities after school?
I mean for me Columbia, doesn't really seem like a thriving metropolis.
as soon as a I graduated I got out to a better place.

Norman is a OKC suburb that is very slow paced with tons of old people
The night life there is basically nothing
Most OU kids go to OKC to party

Norman is an amazing college town.

Athens GA is like 45-60 mins from ATL depending on traffic. Is that really out in the middle of nowhere?
There's about 25 miles of nothing between the eastern exurbs of Atlanta and the Athens Loop.

I mean no one stays in Athens after graduating though.
Do they?
It's a college town. Normally they head to a big city like Atlanta to work.

Also, Stanford, UCLA, Cal etc etc
And yes the Pac12 seems to actually be the conference with the most of these.

and Im talking the big colleges with great fan bases in big conferences.
Texas, USC, UCLA, Miami, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Arizona State, NC State to name a few P5 schools in desirable and more metropolitan cities. There are also a lot of P5 schools in very nice, more suburban towns close to larger cities like UGA, UNC, and Duke. Also there are places like Knoxville that are smaller but plenty nice cities.

Y’all should take a drive on Louisville Avenue in Monroe from downtown Monroe to the beautiful campus of ULM. Plenty of beautiful sites and wonderful people to see there

Norman is ok but it’s an average college town and campus. SEC and Big 12 have much better college campuses and towns
I’ve been there dozens of times and never thought it stuck out. It has a nice trashy Indian casino off the highway
