Why is anyone concerned about rankings? They are meaningless for Bama. Win out and they are in the playoff that is the only thing that matters. Who is ranked where and who is above who doesn't mean shite.

Well Bama just got outscored in a no defense game by an unranked team.
While OU outscored a ranked team in a no defense game.
Can we just go by results and stay consistent instead of reputation?
Otherwise the AP would be undermining their own ranking of Texas.

Riley would be stupid to start Rattler again. OU would better for it. However Bama is still the better overall team than OU.

Too many pollsters are trying to be right and rank based on how they think teams will finish (with upcoming schedule in mind), instead of trying to rank the teams, and it skews the rankings. Its why polls are worthless, especially preseason polls.

Bama would be favored, but this argument is so dumb to me.
It should matter more of what you’ve done, not how skilled other people think you are.
Bama has a loss to an A&M team everyone thought was terrible, and hasn’t been perfect in every game outside of that (see: UF). I mean, I’m fine having them 5th but based on current resume I don’t think people can be mad about Bama being anywhere from 5th to 8th.
