Former Temple (Texas) High School coach Bryce Monsen, who was fired after the 2010 season, said he and Seastrunk met Lyles during a summer camp at LSU in 2009.

watch out what you wish for

Lyles, a Houston resident, has been tied to other high school players from Louisiana and Texas, who eventually signed with schools such as Auburn, Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma State, Southern California and Texas A&M.

The NCAA, according to sources, is also examining Lyles' relationship with Sean Nelson of Thibodeaux, La.

exactly. that's why it's hard to know what is what

pretty sure schools like LSU/AU are smart enough to make sure if any payments are subject to FOIA, they're the market rate, though

i just cannot believe UO thought it was an illegal payment to be ON the books

I didn't really know anything, I just always thought his recruitment was a little fishy

I posted it in the other thread, but a recruit to look out for is Trey Williams (second best running back in the state). He's in pretty tight with Lyles right now, or was he may try to separate himself now that the scandal finally broke.

Here's one of Lyles' websites: bring it sports

Schools pay recruiting services all the time for videos, stats, etc. I don't think anything is out of the ordinary here

There's a large difference between "hey we'd like to buy your videos of recruit _____" and "hey we know you're in good with recruit _______, here's some cash to steer him towards us"

1. This guy was no longer affiliated with a service when they paid him.

2. What they paid him was about $8K over what they'd paid for scouting services in previous years.

It's not necessarily hard evidence, but the circumstantial evidence doesn't look good.

SFP........is making good points.

They used their services because compliance said it was checked out and legit. Which is why it's on the books. They weren't trying to hide it. Doing what many top programs do.

Yeah the dollar amount is insignificant, unless the NCAA has audio or text of Oregon specifically paying to get him there is nothing they can do. As much as some people want this to be a huge story, it's not
