because at that point the regular season is meaningless.

It lost significant meaning when the playoffs went to 4 teams and it is now meaningless with 12.

Trying to pretend in the parity of leagues with that meaninglessness goes from irrational to insanity.

They let Bama in last year because of a QB injury.

Why can’t South Carolina get the QB injury excuse for their loss to LSU?

Because it's Alabama and they will generate far more ratings and revenue than South Carolina will. Don't forget that's the whole point of the expansion to 12 teams

Right now, SMU gets team of the year. Seeing them finishing above Clemson, Miami and Florida State is pretty sweet and a testament to using NIL to even the playing field.

I'd rather watch SMU get trucked than watch a Bama team finished 5th in their conference win a playoff game honestly because at that point the regular season is meaningless.

Hate to break it to you , but if a 9-3 team gets and at-large it's going to be Bama. Deserving or not.Period. End of story

Well I'm not going to upvote that, but I can't downvote it, because it is the truth.

It is what it is I guess.

fricking Alabama.

I’ve read all season how the regular season is watered down and that the playoff has cheapened the regular season. Then at the end we have threads basically saying the regular season shouldn’t count and we should use the eyeball test instead of wins and losses.

All I ask is for consistency. Schedules are made years ahead of time so no team can change what they have this season or next. And schedules are incredibly unbalanced but if the regular is to mean anything then you can’t punish teams who win a lot of games for teams who won less.

Call them South Carolina, until their marching band does a video with Fleetwood Mac no one in the rest of the United States considers them to be USC.

What does the marching band and fleetwood mac have anything to do with anything?

The fact Boise might get a bye is a joke.

When it was just assumed ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC would just autofill those slots, no one said a word. Watching the complaints now is quite enjoyable.

Hope an SEC has to go up to Boise to get beat by a G5 team in the cold.

How are they gonna do that if Boise has a bye? The 2nd round and beyond is all neutral sites

Bama also beat Georgia who stomped South Carolina's best win by 30.

And also took 8OT to beat a 5 loss GT team at home.

Us G5's don't understand the CFP brackets and byes. Lack of privilege leads to ignorance.

But Bama beat South Carolina. Neither team should be in the playoff.
