- Iowa native Kayden Proctor commits to Iowa but flips to Bama in High School.
- Plays a year and then enters the portal.
- Commits to Iowa around the same time The Swarm fundraises $100k
- Collects NIL money and then re-enters the portal.
- Doesn't have to pay Iowa NIL

Kayden Proctor's Iowa career is truly peerless

2 committments
2 decommittment
1 transfer
1 NCAA violation
0 practices

Probably made some good money in there too

I remember thinking it was pretty cool that he went back home to Iowa.

going to be a shark of a businessman in the future. he'll find the most inane and hidden loopholes in contracts and employee handbooks and use them to his advantage

As shady as it is, you can't even be mad at the kid for finding a way to buck the system. Who would have predicted something like this happening in an unregulated free agency free-for-all?

I've already predicted the next step will be transferring to an undefeated team as soon as your team drops a game. It'll be like a fantasy league where the commissioner never locks trades so some dick has his friends trade him all the good players once they're out of playoffs

seriously though, there were reports that Iowa tampered by contacting Proctor mid-season last year.

if that's true, screw the hawkeyes. they get what they deserve

Transfer portal has been far worse for the sport than any NIL changes IMO. If NIL was like it is, but transfer portal was how it used to be, we'd have far less problems I think.

The punting drills drove him back to Bama

He doesn't have to pay back the Iowa NIL money?

He basically stole it.

Pretty sure when they get those deals they have some kind of appearance fees or something similar attached to it.

Iowa boosters should hold him to his end of the contract. If he breeches, sue him for failure to complete is contract.

He technically wasn't being paid to attend Iowa, so they have minimal ability to claw back money. That's why most of the collectives have extremely short contract lengths (6 months in many cases).

He likely didn't get paid all that much because you usually aren't being paid until you do an appearance or charity work or some other event that uses your name, image, or likeness

honestly one and not the other probably is fine.

instead the ncaa dragged their feet on making common sense nil rules (money had to come directly from business/individuals with proof of services rendered, etc. )so now we have the crap show that is.

and because they pretty much got all power taken away from them with that now the portal is a free for all.

its so annoying.

Mad? I wouldn’t call it being mad. But you can call him a piece of shite because that’s what he is. I would say the same about any person who does what he did

The man in charge of the collective made it very clear that Proctor did not take any swarm money. He also made it clear that among the individuals contributing Proctor wasn't interested in that either. It's obvious that he just wants to come home where he's loved. What a happy ending.

The grass always looks Greener over someone else's septic tank. Obviously the kid got to digging around and he decided that's enough, I'm going home. As a freshman All-American and all SEC offensive tackle we are mighty happy he did.
