The pendulum is swinging back the other way.

in some states it is. in others, it's still going left, EXTREMELY quickly

Most prime time NFL games have 20-30 million viewers. Do you honestly believe that these games will have less viewers than that? I’m willing to bet it would be at least equal if not greater, particularly if the teams have good records and the games are good.

83 million subscriptions. Well over half the country has access to it.

amazon prime has about 168 million subscribers in the US, and the NFL on Prime averaged 11.68 million viewers in 2023. and that was an increase of 24% from 2022

so yes, i'm willing to bet that Netflix will much MUCH fewer than 20 million viewers, considering that it has a smaller subscriber base than Amazon Prime

if a 34 year old is considered a boomer, then you're absolutely correct

There are 83 million Netflix subscribers in this country. I'm pretty sure anyone who watches NFL football already has Netflix.

You underestimate how many Netflix subscribers are in the US

you overestimate how many current netflix subscribers are actually NFL fans and will watch those games.

I don't have concrete proof, but i'm willing to bet a LARGE contingent of netflixers are stay at home moms and the type of "men who are obsessed with starbucks" and don't give a damn about the NFL (or any kind of sports for that matter)

Crazy that billionaire NFL owners expect the cities to foot the bill for their toys.

i mean, I don't blame them for trying. it's good business to not tie up your own funds and leverage the money of others, so that you can buy income producing assets with your own

i blame the city leaders and politicians for caving to their demands and footing the bill. they need to push back and tell the sports owners to GFY

Cool. Michigan lost Harbaugh and Minter, and will likely be starting another Joe Milton at QB. Good luck.

harbaugh wasn't even the coach for half of the reg season, including the OSU game, which UM won. and minter's replacement is the OG of the Ravens' defensive scheme, so I don't anticipate much dropoff considering that this will be the 4th consecutive year of them running that scheme

I don't think UM will get great QB play this year, but I expect them to run the ball very well, and their defense should be stout, and will make it suffocating for an OSU offense without a dynamic player like MHJ

Barring injuries, I highly doubt they lose to Michigan this year. They're loaded and Michigan is in transition.

OSU lost harrison, both starting LBs, another WR who transferred to PSU, their QB, and will either start either a tr fresh QB or transfer from kansas st, and got bamas center who had like 17 snap issues in the rose bowl against UM

Yall are forgetting that NIL benefits the donors as well. The more money you commit to NIL, the more favorably you and your business are looked at by the community/the school/the state government etc etc.

People like you and like your business when you are bankrolling the star players. There will always be other people/businesses looking to get some of that shine.

I thought about this also, but I honestly am not seeing a HUGE benefit to the donors. for example, if a local businessman pays a player to appear in a commercial for his car dealership (let's say Ford or GM) or restaurant (upscale Italian), am I gonna go to that car dealership or restaurant?

I mean, when I buy a car, i'm thinking longer term (5-8 years), and i still prefer certain cars (toyota, honda, lexus, subaru, etc), and I'm not gonna base my transportation needs for the next several years on a player who is only endorsing a car dealership because he got paid $100k to do so

also, not a huge fan of italian food (prepared for the downvotes), so I really wouldn't necessarily go there

i'm trying to think of other ways in which there is a significant financial benefit for the donors, but i'm struggling big time

Where do you suggest they move the Holy Land to?

wellll, they shouldn't have been imported there from all parts of europe and forcibly removed hundreds of thousands of native people who were living there in the first place

that's the root cause of the issue

both of those prosti--i mean girls are on OF. no, i don't have an account. they've been on several podcasts and dating shows and are open about it

how many guys from oregon have been drafted so far? seems like quite a few

People.are making too much about his age.

yup

if he can give you 8-10 solid years, him being a couple years older is irrelevant. obviously, brady is an extreme example, but even matthew stafford is in his mid-30s and playing at a pretty high level

now, penix's health is a major concern though, and all the medical issues he has should be the bigger question mark. will his body be able to withstand the rigors and hits of a full NFL season for a long time

How in the actual frick does anyone “capture” a US military installation anywhere on earth and hold 1,000 American military personnel captive?

by surrounding that base with thousands and thousands of their own military personnel and/or cutting off electricity/water/wi-fi/essential services

not much you can do when you're outnumbered by a HUGE amount of people and all essential services are cut off

Can someone tell me why conservatives are so strongly opposed to Ukraine aid? I'm just baffled by this. Do you guys really have no pity at all for Ukraine? Note that I'm not some bleeding heart liberal, I am a conservative too but like, come on Ukraine is fighting for it's survival!

if a mid-major wins every game against FCS teams by 3 points every week, should they be in the title game due to the 100% results driven protocol?
