There’s only so much money you can pay those players now with the second apron or you get hit with massive sanctions and a massive luxury tax bill.

Is Chet definitely going to get a massive deal?

He hasn't been All-NBA yet which limits it the deal.

I suspect they will have to choose between Dort and Caruso - given the ages it shouldn't be too hard a decision, and you have team options on a fair few others which can be downdialled with the 10,000 picks they have if needed

Edit: Cap also increasing 10%

Again, why do we care if the cities are boring? It’s a basketball series none of us will actually attend personally. Gonna be a good one.

No way it’s going to be good. I was listening to a Vegas show and they said this is one of the most lopsided finals ever. OKC completely dominated Indiana this season when they played

OKC is -700 to win it and already -10 for Thursday night.

You would have to bet $700 to win $100 just for OKC to win it all

Ya, just like Boston was favored, then Knicks was favored, Cavs was favored, ect Vegas is never wrong, right?

I expect the Thunder to win the series no doubt, but it’s not going to be a run away.

I’ll probably watch very little of it but at least the nba will have a first time champion with new league stars.

Btw. Playoffs are too long. I lost interest a while ago. Make it a sprint to the championship not a marathon

I'll tune in just to see what Tyrese Haliburton's fool of a Daddy will do next.

I will say OKC really supports basketball there, the atmosphere there is like no other. People can say the city is boring and all of that jazz, but the people there love there basketball. New Orleans was worried when the Pelicans was there thinking that the owner at the time was gonna keep them in OKC because the fan support was so great.

Except OKC is the most elite team we’ve seen in a while.

I’ll be watching every second because they’re both good teams. If the casuals don’t want to watch that’s fine, they’ll just comment on the series from box scores like they always do anyways.

Survivorship bias. The product today is much better just like every other sport.

I think we need Play-In Tourney Haliburton to show up for Indy to make this a series. OKC’s defense is a few steps above what Indy has seen this postseason, especially with Cleveland/Mobley dinged up.

Yeah the whole “#1 offense vs. #1 defense” is misleading because OKC doesn’t just have the best defense in the NBA, it’s the best in NBA history.

And Indy’s O rating is only two points better than OKC. Their defense is much much worse as well. They have the worst isolation defense in the playoffs by far and they’re going up against the best iso scorer in the world.
