if the replay booth's call on the last hail mary play on the fsu/miami game is what you call, "transparent" then transparent must mean something different to you.

The review of the double catch hail Mary was comically terrible.

It sounded rushed and predetermined, they never actually even once discussed the actual point of the review (simultaneous possession). It never even was mentioned.

corruption is in play whenever money is involved. Sports are entertainment and all about money. Just rip the band-aid off and let it be true entertainment. Make roids legal, no guardian cap bullshite, etc. Stop trying to act like its legit.

The biggest argument that they are to me is that there is tech that can likely assist with these calls and a multi billion dollar league won’t really adapt them.

Make it a rule you have to have been a D1 athlete to ref and pay them more and make them full time and most of this goes away

We have unathletic people who see officiating as the pinnacle of their accomplishment and that’s problem

You don’t have to have been a great athlete to be an official, but there absolutely be an age limit, fitness test, and REAL performance evaluations. How these guys have some thin veil of protection still is one of the more head scratching things in sports.

Look, I get it, it can be hard, and missing shite on the field I typically don’t even care about. shite happens. But that review last night was a total farce and calls the integrity of the competition into question.

The conversation seemed rigged. That one replay official was aggressively gaslighting the others saying we can wee Miami with possession lying on the ground when the opposite was true. And he kept aggressively saying “we all see that?!!! Yes?!”

ACC is far more transparent on replay. This shouldn’t upset anyone.
You're not wrong but neither am I. it's the non-reviewable ticky tack holding/no holding, pi, etc. calls that can and absolutely do change the entire trajectory of a game.

not a chance in hell that a bunch of part time amateur refs who are being paid $250/game aren't wanting a piece of that 16 billion dollar pie, nor would they not take a piece under the table for the benefit of ratings and storylines as a contractual obligation by the networks and their respective conferences.

I look forward to the day some autistic redditor scours the internet and blows it wide open.

we all see it with our own two eyes. we're just lying to ourselves about it.

Holly Rowe was on the BYU sideline before the play was snapped. I mean they knew the outcome of that game.

People dont care anymore. It goes much further than sports. We get trick fricked everyday and just bend over and take it. Our society is cooked. We pay way too much for bullshite because we are totally fine charging it on a credit card instead of abstaining from it.We are all soft as frick .

That was the quickest ACC review I've ever seen.

the bullshite holding flag on the first fsu hail mary came out as soon as the ref saw the ball was coming down into the endzone. he was going to make sure that no matter what happened that ball was coming back. we all saw the michigan/ western michigan game clear as day, and what was even more blackpilling was when WM came out with an "aw shucks" statement on it before making a poor attempt to walk it back when people were like, "wait, what?"

revenue sharing makes the incentive to protect their golden goose even more important for dogshit conferences like the acc and big 12. everyone knows they'll shoehorn ND into the playoffs, so a loss to the Cinderella (byu) is a win/win. it's all fake and gay.

the obvious rigging of sports is getting worse and worse by the year. we all see it this year. it's not getting better. the thing that's so unsettling about it is that they're even taking away our bread and circuses and telling us to like it or get fricked. it's indicative of culture as a whole circa 2026. their problem is they underestimate humans taking them up on their offer. I'm already checked out atp. it's passive viewing for me, and I don't pay single red penny to watch it. too many free ways to do that.

there are people on the website who, if you pay attention to them, will live and die on every play of every game because they have their gas money riding on some silly, rigged game. they should be shunned, because they're a part of the process that ruined it. if it's so pervasive to your state of mind that every sporting event has you skating on the edge of having a coronary then you've lost the plot. you're cooked.

Bama is now getting bad calls that are not blatantly in their favor and suddenly tide fans are worried about the refs!

It’s been really, really, really “questionable” this year and I say that as the calls went against two teams I hate: Alabama and Notre Dame.

The Georgia CB mugging on the Alabama WR gave me Saints-Rams flashbacks.

The Notre Dame-BYU game had three: the fumbled spike - the refs blew the play dead yet allowed BYU to recover the “fumble” after the whistle blew? The blatant PI on the final play and the 1-second left on the clock

FSU game … that, to me, was the biggest example of officiating protecting the conference darling, Miami. I feel so bad for those FSU players

ND usually lets the opponent bring their own refs.

The Bush Push game was rigged by PAC-10 referees.

Most definitely, but it's Notre Dame so I don't feel about it.
