Is Penn State at least being allowed to wear their blue jerseys on Saturday?
The thought of seeing Penn State's normal road uniform against this morose looking Nike creation is almost depressing.

This is Nike's decision, not OSU's. The apparel companies tell these schools what they'll wear and when.

If this was true almost every school would be wearing "alternates" multiple times a year. This is literally just so Nike can sell jerseys. I don't blame them, they're a business. But I'd rather my school (and preferably other schools as well) not prostitute themselves to help Nike make it's bottom line. So much money grabbing in college football these days and there will eventually be a breaking point.

They are using the kids as a focus group to come up with alternate uniforms. Nothing like letting 18 year olds who have to cheat to get an 18 on the ACT being allowed to shite all over their school's traditions.

Their normal uniforms are awful. frick them.

Do any of you hate this? Like this?
Like it better than their usual shite. Which isn't saying much.

The helmet, with the red buckeyes, is hot garbage.
Best part of the uniform, actually.

quote:No doubt. But I also assume it's not a spur of the moment thing. I believe they have in their contract they'll make one or two special uni's per year for OSU to wear and OSU agrees to wear them. Maybe I'm wrong about that and it's just discussed on the fly.

Only ones I liked are the ones they had vs Michigan in 2010. Other than that, I wish they would stick with their traditional uni's.

He’s just a bitter Michigan fan that’s tired of getting owned by Ohio State. All his Ohio State posts are the same boring stuff.
The jerseys are ugly. I think they would be sharp if they made the numbers and sleeve stripes red. Their best alternates were the black ones they worse against PSU two years ago. They should wear those once a year.

You're a good poster except when it comes to Ohio State. Then you turn into the shittiest poster on the site.

They look like they are trying to be Georgia in that picture.
In fact, if I turned on a game and saw those uniforms, my first thought would be that it is Georgia playing.

quote:LOL. Didn't think of that. That is why I must subconsciously like them so much because I love Georgia's uniforms.

Why do all of these special uniform reveal photos involve strange lighting and smoke?

Because it doesn't hurt and sometimes helps with recruiting?
You know what else helps? Being Ohio State.
I remember when Oregon started with all the uniform stuff, and they were really good. Other schools thought that was a magic bullet to success...turns out it really doesn't do shite, other than maybe excite the current players.
That all being said, I don't like these OSU uniforms, but I do really like the helmets with the wider red stripe on the helmet and green buckeyes. I believe they wore these when they mollywhopped us in the B1G championship.
And I have a hard time believing that the school has no say or vote on the uniforms they're gonna wear.

Yea the school decides then tells Nike to make them, not the other way around.
I would rather we go traditional for the big games, and maybe make the alt uniform a normal game tradition

The melt on this board when Alabama or LSU eventually does something a little too different with their uniforms will be glorious.

because they have Nike as their uni maker.
NIKE shits on CFB uniforms.
