Didn't Tiger go 0 for the next 9 majors after the 1997 Master's? Rory doesn't have to win another major this year to prove anything. He's trying to adjust to his new superstar status. Tiger is past his prime. He won't win another Tiger Slam. Now notice, that I have never said that Tiger won't win another major. Tiger has plenty of good golf left in him, so he can put it all together for a weekend here and there. But over the next ten years, I'd take Rory in total wins over Tiger.

I agree that he's been caught up in his own stardom recently. But it seems like he either misses the cut, or finishes top 5.

All this may be true. But Rory's name doesn't belong in the same conversation as Tiger's at this point. Fully 75% of the people who follow golf today do so because of Tiger's exploits. He will likely finish his career with the most PGA wins in history, and may well break Jack's major's record as well.
Give Rory a little more time to do a fraction of what Tiger did between 2000-2008 before we start this talk. It really seems preposterous now.

Really went out on a limb with that one. Considering he and Bobby Jones are the only people in history to hold all four majors at one time.
Rory has a long way to go to win the Career Grand Slam, and I think the only place he can win the British at this point is St. Andrews

You guys are the guys making the big assumptions. I never compared Rory to Tiger's past. I'm comparing Rory's future to Tiger's future.
You guys laugh at me for saying that Tiger won't win another Tiger Slam, but y'all get perturbed over the mere mention that Tiger is past his prime and that one day, he won't be the best in the world anymore.
I have never said that Rory will catch Tiger's career numbers.

That's the thing. I agree. I said he has 4-6 years of good golf left. But good Tiger golf is something other players simply can't compete with.
And yes, he's undoubtedly past his prime (at least probably) but calling a phenom like Tiger past his prime could prove to be pretty meaningless. He was so much better than anything the game had ever seen in his prime that he may still prove dominant into his early 40s (into his decline).
