Pens beat the Ducks 3-2 in SO. Just the Ducks 5th loss at home this year, giving the Pens the best home record in the NHL now.

Best of the West my arse Anaheim.

Modano ceremony is today Stars fans! I'm currently flying in from Charlotte to catch the ceremony/game. Nervous about facing the Wild tonight, Moulson is a Stars killer.

Agree.

As a Stars fan and crossing my fingers that Dallas can hold on to a wild card spot, I'd rather play the Ducks in the first round rather than either Chi or StL. Stars have played great against the Pacific Division all season. Not that I think the Stars would win a series against any of the top 3 West teams, but I think they match up best vs the Ducks (2-1 VS them this season including a shut out win in Anaheim last month).

Starting Zatkoff again against the Caps, be glad when Vokoun is back here in another week or two although Jeff has done decent.

Pens all over the Caps early, 2-1.

I surprised you haven't made it a point to let everyone know that Maatta is only 19.

Brah,

I think everyone would appreciate having a player like that. I'm just genuinely surprised that you haven't mentioned it yet, you know you want to.

Something crazy just happened at the stars game. Completely stopped the game...

Edit: it happened on the stars bench. Everyone is shaken up and it looked like paramedics rushed someone from the bench to the back.

Pens beat the Caps yet again, ho hum, 3-2.

Good lord the Pens penalty kill, #1 in the league for a reason. Thing of beauty.

Crosby with 3 points.

Joe Starkey ?@JoeStarkey1
That 3rd period is what it looks like when a team dedicates itself to preventing goals. Other than health, no bigger key for Penguins

Josh Yohe ?@JoshYohe_Trib
Bylsma now 6-0 against Oates.

This might finally be the year McPhee gets canned.

During the intermission of the Avs - Jets game, they said it was Peverly who collapsed on the Stars bench. He has a history of heart problems so I hope all is well.

Should be if Caps miss playoffs.

Acc to SportsClubStats, tonight's loss to #Pens reduced #Caps playoff chances by 6.1%. Now at 10.1%.

Whatever that means.

I know Caps fans want to see GMGM get canned, but I don't see why. I don't think his sins are all that great, and the team is consistently good. But this makes it pretty certain they are missing the playoffs for the first time in 7 years.

Disappointing loss, mainly because the Caps so thoroughly dominated the run of play. Caps outshot the Pens 33-20, and had more attempted shots at over a 60% clip. The ice was tilted in the Caps' favor all night. But they let up two goals on the first four shots. And then they went 10 minutes before allowing a second shot in the 2nd period... only to see it go in. At one point the Pens had 13 shots and 3 goals. That's a pitiful save percentage.

You can't outplay a team and not get points when you're on the playoff bubble. This is the first time in a month the Caps have so thoroughly outskated a team, which says one of two things: 1) the Caps are on the cusp of turning it around or 2) the Penguins aren't that good. I'm honestly leaning towards #2. Outside of their top line, the Pens have serious issues. They have no depth, and our 3rd and 4th lines dominated theirs.

Peverly collapsing is some scary shite. The NHL made the right call to cancel the game. Says he is okay, but that was terrifying.

Indeed. Brings the Hank Gathers situation to mind immediately. Glad to see the Stars medical staff was on the ball.

Obviously a situation like this minimalizes what's happening on the ice and understandably so, but the other side of this story is that the Stars, clinging to the 8 seed, have now lost their starting goalie and a top-line forward in the last two games.

Lightning are pissing me off, 2nd straight game they've lost 4-3 in a SO.

Recently got into Hockey over the last year or 2, looking forward to seeing them play the Panthers on Thursday since i'm in town for spring break.
