Yikes.
Avs ruin the Wings Lidstrom ceremony winning 3-2.
MacKinnon extends point streak to 13 games. He's so good for an 18 year old.

Speaking of teenage studs...Olli Maatta lights the lamp Pens 1 Sharks 0.
Goc with the assist for his first point as a Penguin.

After watching the Blues with Ryan Miller for three games, I think this team is going to be tough to beat in a 7 game series come play off time.

GOAL KUNITZ!
Pens 2 Sharks 0
Sure does sound like there is a lot of Pens fans in the Shark Tank.

Bruins, Kings, Avs best bet for money.
Posted on 3/6/14 at 10:47 pm to UltimateHog
Yea, I have been waiting for the Avs to fall off all year, they are for real though. The scary part is they have more coming down the pipe and will likely get better in the coming years.

Wow Zatkoff.
He was having a great game too, but that was awful and may cost us at least a point.
Saving Fleury for tomorrow night against the Ducks but that hurts.

Holy crap, the refs just swallowed the whistles. Could have been 4 or 5 minors in the last 2 mins there.

Well damn, let that one get away, had them down and out for 2 periods.
AHL goalie with a huge blunder to lose it.
Definitely better than the Sharks though, so I feel good about that.

WTF! Did you even watch the damn game last night? Pens were terrible 5on5 & Crosby played like total crapp! Sidney Crosby - a career worst -5 last night. If it wasn't for your PP goals Pens get blown out.
Even the Pens beat writer thinks Sharks are & were the better team.

They (Sharks) are better than the Penguins and they deserved the result they got last night.

Fear the Fin, the Sharks blog, have been ripping the crap out of Crosby. I think their line was "if we're going to selectively kill Overchkin for every defensive lapse, why do we let Crosby do it?" Crosby was on ice for every Sharks goal.
BTW- this is as statistical meaningful as Ovie being on the ice for Caps' goals against. When you log a ton if ice time, chances are good you'll be on ice when the defense lets up lots of goals.

Do you post here often? UH will have a similar post about every game the Penguins lose. He said the same thing after Chicago won in Soldier last week. Hell, he was even saying the same shite after Boston won games 1 and 2 in the playoffs last year. He then mysteriously disappeared. Easily the worst poster on here.

Lie after lie after lie. Or you just suck at reading.
We were definitely better than the Sharks last night, 2 goal lead and blew it in the 3rd mainly because we started out backup goalie or at WORST that game goes to OT at 3-3.
And I'm the best poster on here, wtf are you smoking?

Because Crosby plays solid D and is on the Top PK unit in the NHL. Nor was it a defensive lapse at all.
That play was perfectly fine too, Pens were on the PP and Malkin is the D man on the point who had just stopped Marleau the play before in a 1 on 1 just like that one.
Crosby had a very very rare bad game as far as the -5 goes, it happens. He has an AHL player on his wing.
quote:
Crosby skated hard and then trailed the play, allowing Evgeni Malkin to attempt to defend Marleau one-on-one and, well, you can see how well that went.
My first reaction was that this was unfairly maligning Crosby, who by all accounts is a better than average defensive player and is like the love child of Pavel Datsyuk and Patrice Bergeron when compared to Ovechkin.
But beyond that, what was his responsibility on this play? Backcheck Marleau at the risk of a penalty? Be ready to transition to offensive on what could be a 4-on-3 the other way? Stand there and do nothing?
