To only have one Cup so far with this core is disappointing - even though the one was amazing. At least the Avs aren't Toronto, Vancouver, or Buffalo. But consider that this Vegas core is back there twice.

To get swept like this with the best team since 2022 and inability to adjust to the Dallas/Vegas neutral zone clog is pathetic. That game was pathetic and result felt inevitable. At least I don't have to waste time watching more of this series with any hope.

As much as Bednar is great, I think his message has just gone quiet there. Ultimately it falls more on the players, but unfortunately time to go. Don't even have a great option, but a new voice is needed.

Next year's team can be good, but not this good, less deep, and one year older.

I'm expecting the injury list to be long and serious, but still doesn't excuse the performance.

It wasn't that long ago I thought firing Cassidy when the Golden Knights were still a playoff team was nuts.

Yeah - that firing seemed desperate at the time
Was ready to lump Vegas in with Winnipeg as a talented underachiever this year but they could still make the playoffs
They've looked stronger as each round has gone on, with each game

Would Tronna burn to the ground if Marner wins a Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe immediately after being run out of town?

Who are you a fan? Montreal? Montreal beat Ottawa in 2015; Ottawa did not make the playoffs in 2014.

well.........i saw the suicidal meltdowns attacking him after we came back from down 3-1 in the series in 2021 and beat them

now? it would be bad. real bad.

So you like Montreal in hockey and Boston in basketball. Ironic how both teams lead their respective leagues in Championships. Hmmm. I take that you're a Pats fan, too? Edit: Saints and Braves fan. Meh.

Exactly, 2015. No one says "2014" for the 2014-2015 year. Just like you used "2021" for the 2020-2021 season when referring to your favorite team defeating the Maple Leafs and VGK. Are the Knicks playing the 2025 NBA Finals?

Since the 2013-14 NHL season, it has been exactly 13 straight years where the Presidents' Trophy winner has failed to win the Stanley Cup. The Chicago Blackhawks were the last team to win both in the same season (2012-13).

wow

almost a jinx

I agree. Something has gone stagnant, and it’s behind the bench. The front office has been remarkable keeping this window open, we’ve had a chance damned near a decade now (I’d call it ‘19-26 at this rate).

Bednar won’t be unemployed long, but I just think we need to move on. I want Carle.

Your useless trivia for this evening...

The VGK have now had 4 head coaches in their history. Torts becomes the 3rd to make the SCFs immediately after taking control of the team.

Only Pete DeBoer failed to do so, as well as being the only VGK coach to miss the playoffs.
