The Kings have finally come to life -- was beginning to think that the Hawks were their kryptonite.

I DVR'd the game, couldn't watch it live. When I got home it took some serious restraint not to fast-forward all the way through period 2. Blackhawks were sticking it to the Kings. Until that goal (yeah it was fluky, but they say "get pucks deep" for a reason) towards the end of the period.

In the 3rd period, the floodgates opened and the difference in character between the two teams was obvious. Doughty finally found his shot, and Carter showed his chops. Its too early to say "Lights Out, Chicago", but the bulbs are flickering. Roll on game 3.

Game 3 tonight - Rangers vs. Habs. Tokarski looking pretty decent, but will the Habs find some offense?

The Habs need in this order:

A Win
Ugly goal on PP
Toughness
Retaliate for Kreiderr
Tic Tac Toe on PP

Olli Maatta had his shoulder surgery today.

The Pens best young player, and their top prospect (both Dmen) now have the same 4-6 month shoulder surgery recovery ahead of them.

Anyone will tell you it takes quite a bit longer than 4-6 months to fully recover from it, too.

Insane goal for the Rags. Looked like they cashed on a 2 on 1, then the puck deflected back to the passer on the 2 on 1, and he batted it in out of the air.

Oh lord, Subban whiffing and falling down to start the play should be a nice GIF. This sucks, I love the Habs. Anybody but Chicago though for me, I guess.

Habs with a grand total of about 4 shots on goal in the first period.
