Some mindless thoughts.
1. The post game talking heads have a lot of air time to fill and talk a lot of nonsense. They project the future assuming that everything is stagnant and that Alabama and Georgia will rule forever. Tigers (both LSU and Clemson) know forever is never.
2. Was not buying into that this year's Alabama team was worthy of a presumptive championship caliber team just because. During all the discussions on this board about CBK's 2022 opportunities, so many just caved that we'll have a fairly good season except for the expected loss to Alabama. I don't buy it. They certainly weren't impressive last night on offence considering they had a Heisman under center.
3. Georgia's offence was fairly impotent and except for some key plays at the end when Bama's D was worn out, I saw nothing from them that would say they're unbeatable.
4. The one impressive display that was showcased was Georgia's defense. They were physical, hungry, aggressive and relentless. If there's one aspect that our coaches need to film study is that D. To either duplicate it or counter it. The old saying that offense will get you to the championship but defense will win it was certainly demonstrated last night.

The thing that impresses me most about Georgia's defense is their run defense. They are very hard to run on. They are susceptible to giving up the big play through the air but their run defense is impressive.

Honestly, was not overly impressed with either offense. We got spoiled with watching Burrow.

It is wise to study the ways of an adversary.

Burrow would have destroyed either of those title pretenders.

You do know that some people are actually fans of the sport, right?

Hmm. I guess you're the only one entitled to share an observation. I'm neither player nor coach. Is that a requirement to post here?

Thank you for your mature response.

Not to disagree with what you wrote, but I observed that Georgia's defense in this game adopted the strategy that LSU used against Alabama earlier this season. LSU should have won that game.

LSU's defensive strategy against Alabama was to send a blitzer on every play and keep the pressure on Young. It was an effective strategy.

In the SEC Championship Game, Georgia did not do this. Instead it tried to rely on its defense to win the matchup without pressuring Young in that manner. It did not work.

Last night, Georgia blitzed someone pretty much every down, and it worked.

While I don't disagree with your comments generally, I disagree that LSU needs to study Georgia here, when to me it looked like Georgia studied the LSU defensive plan.

IRRC I don't think a rushing TD was scored on their defense in 2019

Thanx for the comment. My assessment wasn't so much strategic as tactical. The strategy may have been similar but my observations had to do more with the way that strategy was executed. Relentless, aggressive, almost blood thirsty. The X's and O's can be drawn up on a board but to coach that fire in the belly and desire is admirable and pointed to the Dogs just wanting it more. That's the case study - how to get that.

They gave up only 2 rushing touchdowns that season. One against Auburn and the other against Baylor in the Bowl game, but thats still very impressive over the course of 14 games to only give up 2 rushing touchdowns.

Heck Saban looked happy for Kirby at the post game handshake. Probably thanked Kirby for laying down in the SEC Championship.

This should come as a surprise to absolutely no one.

Georgia was clearly the best team all year.

Georgia knew Alabama was going to play balls-out in December because it was an elimination game for them. So Georgia just treated it as a dress rehearsal and stayed out of their way.

You’re the one studying the ways of an “adversary” you are not even competing against.

A second loss would have kept Bama out of the playoffs so I doubt they treated it as a "dress rehearsal".
