imagine being so insane you go nuts, what at least 45 min to an hour AFTER your round where you were never even seen on tv much less in contention made you do this.

Had an outburst at the pga at quail hollow as well.

Probably needs some action taken until he can get control

He could be arrested for that conduct.

Do some smashing in a WalMart and you're walking out in handcuffs.

The Tour fined John Peterson for doing a Happy Gilmore swing when he was DFL in fricking China, but they seemingly don’t give a shite about a dude actually going insane several times and breaking other people’s shite. Not a good look

He has right to the tournament. Not to the course. I assume Oakmont is pretty damned exclusive. Juice not worth the squeeze. Plenty of guys they can put in there that people know as well who won’t trash the place.

"They" (the tour) don't run the US Open.

They can fine players for their conduct in any "PGA TOUR cosponsored, approved or coordinated tournament, or activities related thereto." I would imagine major golf tournaments fall under that umbrella.

No, they don't. The PGAT has nothing to do with the US Open, Masters or British Open in regards to how they are run and how they handle conduct of the players during the tournament.

Perhaps you're just confused.

That is not what he is saying. He is assuming they are approved or coordinated tournaments. I would assume the same. If they weren't coordinated, they would have a tournament that week for all non-qualifiers. If a PGA Tour player embarrasses the tour at a very visible event, the PGA Tour can likely justify a fine.

They can fine their members for pretty much whatever the hell they want to. It has nothing to do with who runs the tournament

perhaps you are

as defined in the PGA Player Handbook, an "approved" tournament is defined as:
quote:

An “approved” tournament is a golf competition endorsed by PGA TOUR but for which PGA
TOUR has no contract with the tournament’s sponsor (Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, The
Open Championship, PGA Championship, The Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup and Olympic Games).

So they can even fine players for their conduct as, gasp, the Olympics, Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup, and all 4 majors. Crazy, I know. Maybe try not being an a-hole before talking out of your arse

Here's a link to the entire manual if you care to educate yourself on the topic

As a former champ, he does have the right to play in the tournament.
That has limits however, if he (hyperbolic example) kills someone he's not getting out of jail just to play the 2033 U.S. Open

Given that the club has offered a reasonable remedy (imo), I don't think you'll see anyone arguing that he should be included without satisfying the conditions of said remedy. It would just underscore how big of a dbag he is.

Yeah, I forgot they have a tournament in the states the week of the Open. They don't during the other 3 majors.

assume he doesn't do that and the Open goes back to Oakmont while he still has an exemption to play. What supersedes? The ban they have, or his legit right to play?

The US Open goes back to Oakmont the last year of his exemption. He'll be irrelevant by then but I'm sure he'll do whatever he needs to to get unbanned.

The shitty thing to me is that he didn’t even offer to pay for the damages when it happened if that’s now part of the stipulation to lift his ban
