even as a temporary situation, baseball would probably demand a roof stadium

I hope that Oakland tells them to frick off, and they end up moving to Nashville.

AKA MLB/A's are blackmailing city into getting a new stadium

You both couldn't be more wrong. The A's have made and keep making attempts to find and finance a new site and stadium without one dollar of tax money. It is the city of Oakland, some local businesses and plenty of dumbass citizens that keep fricking it up.

If the A's leave it'll be BECAUSE of Oakland.

The renderings for the Portland stadium look like Safeco (or whatever it is called now) with the back blown out.

Portland has a site ready to go and a group to fund it.

My hope is that they end up somewhere nearby. But being in Nashville would be so lame.

The Oakland Athletics are iconic. The 72-74 World Champs dynasty is one of the best ever. The Bash Brothers and the 89 earthquake series. The 20 game streak. Moneyball made some great teams that were so fun to watch and changed how MLB does business. I'd hate to lose that. But the A's gotta do what they gotta do.

What would make a far bigger change is a change in ownership. A's have one of the richest owners in all of professional sports and they never try to buy just one year of winning or even build a complete team just to try.

Yeah... that's basically what I said, I hope Oakland chases them off. I like close to Nashville, I would love to see an MLB team close by.

The A's are doing what almost every person wants professional teams to do find a way to pay for your own damn stadium. If they move its only because of the City of Oakland. The A's have bent over backwards to stay in Oakland and the city has pretty much spit in their face. The coliseum is an absolute dump and not a good fan experience for anyone. I grew up going to A's games and I will be pissed if they move.

From what I understand, it may be currently the worst stadium in all of major professional sports.

Hey, just because your date is sloppy and old and occasionally shits herself is no reason to call it her the worst. She still takes you to the playoffs. Then you shite yourself.

Vegas wasn't there 100 years ago. It was a desert stopover for G.I.’s on the way to the West Coast.

Continue to circle the drain like most if not all bankrupt municipalities are in that state.

That would give me three MLB stadiums within a 4 hour drive. Not bad.
