I would take a wild guess that the most decorated player in the history of the Australian Open will never play in that tournament again.

Almost everyone left of center in this country is cheering Australia's decision right now and even so-called conservatives have become cult-like in their fear of a virus with a 99% survival rate. I just checked the new case rates for Australia and the US for Jan 4.
For each country the number of cases / total population is:
Australia - .001856
US - .001783
So Australia's rate was higher than ours yesterday, despite their draconian lockdowns from which I cannot fathom the damage to people's businesses, livelihoods, mental health, etc.
If and when they're finally done locking down, what is anyone going to have to return to?

I’d love for the top players on both the men’s and women’s sides to pull out. He had the back of that Chinese girl, standing up to China even though he’s sponsored by Nike too, just like Lebron. And willing to boycott the Olympics this summer if they didn’t sufficiently prove she was safe. (Not sure of his current position regarding her recent “statements.) They should have his too.

TBH I was surprised he was granted an exemption in the first place. I doubt it would have happened if the was the #85 player in the world.
