Now that we've rid ourselves of Brian Kelly, and Notre Dame fans will be off our damn backs, I can return to a less clouded appreciation of what this current, Marcus Freeman-led iteration is accomplishing on the field. Imperfect as they are, they're no longer the entirely overvalued enterprise of the past few decades; the talent and coaching has risen to the task of modern college football.
I think I can go back to having a soft spot for LSU as well.
This team is really good and could beat anyone on the right day. It’s become a trademark of Marcus’ teams that they play their best football at the end of the year.
I think our kicking game and iffy play in short yardage situations will probably prevent us from winning it all, but this is one of the 6 - 8 best teams in the country right now.

Genuinely, I'm looking forward to seeing how they fare in the playoffs.

They have played an atrocious schedule outside of their two losses.
They won’t do shite.

That schedule was Brian Kelly’s brainchild. What a loser that guy is.
Also, we said the same thing about ND last year. Then they rattled off three playoff wins, including being Georgia in the Superdome.

Said it in response to every tired cliche thread about Notre Dame "stealing" a Playoff spot from "another worthy SEC team" ...
They are stealing a spot because the “rules” should be top 4 champions plus either ND or the 5th highest ranked G5 champion.

Nobody forgets that.
Carson Beck is not 13 points better than Gunner Stockton.

You mean their current starting QB?
Would not have mattered a lick. Notre Dame dominated both lines of scrimmage. I don’t think Carson Beck could’ve helped them along the lines.

ND's best win is USC

The SEC’s dominance was in an era of bagmen and 2 or 4 teams getting hand picked. In a bigger playoff last year the SEC did nothing. I’m not saying they won’t have a team win it since they’ll have half the field, but their dominance is over. Give it 10 years of playoff data and it will be obvious. SEC fans can keep pointing to the last 20 years but eventually they’ll have to look at the present.

In a vacuum? No, he’s not. But games don’t occur in a vacuum. You can’t just say, “well, they lost by two scores so I don’t think having their starting QB would’ve mattered”.

Injuries don’t matter in a playoff system. Everyone is banged up. It’s team vs. team. Sure, it sucks to have injuries but in the end it doesn’t matter. A playoff is all about having one team come out the winner.

Give me a break. UGA had a month to prep for the game, it’s not like Beck got hurt and Stockton had to come in in relief.

Notre Dame's best win is still USC.

Give me a fricking break. Those pedos play no one

They are very solid in all three phases. And they list to the #3 team and a pretty good Miami team on the road.

and yet there are still some LSU fans that shitting on the idea of having to "end up with" Freeman...

So… that won’t matter come playoff time.
