USC is scared. Tired of losing to ND.

Those frauds should be kicked out of the Big Ten for being little bitches.

There is way more upside for ND than USC.

So we also have an admission by USC that the Big Ten is a much tougher conference than the PAC ever was. Too many tough games already so afraid to take another L.

Notre Dame needs Southern Cal, not the other way around. It's why you feel as strongly as you do right now.

I don’t think either “needs” the other. ND’s replacing USC with BYU, about the same level of team. ND will likely have to go 11-1 to make it, but that was the case when USC was on the schedule, too.

It’s just unfortunate because it’s a great rivalry, and definitely the clear best inter-sectional one.

Rivalries destroyed by this "new" college football:
USC-Notre Dame
Oklahoma-Nebraska
Pitt-Penn State
Pitt-WV
Washington-Wazzu
Oregon-Oregon St
Oklahoma-Ok State
Maryland-Virginia
Missouri-Kansas
Texas-TAMU(dead for 12 years but back now)

Others not as big of rivalries, but have traditionally played forever:
Auburn-Florida 1945-2002
State-LSU played every year from 1905-2023 except for 1918 and 1943 because of the World Wars
State-Bama played every year from 1948-2023. The geographically closet schools(90 miles) in the SEC. It is now coming back.
-State is both LSU's and Bama's most played football rival
Others long time rivals Michigan-Minnesota and Illinois-Ohio St

Notre Dame won’t join the big ten conference because it’s too difficult. If they join one, it will be the ACC, which they would dominate.

Or USC not imploding the Pac 12 and moving almost the entire conference to the Big Ten? Scheduling wouldn't be an issue at all. They could lose to Notre Dame late, win the Pac 12, and still go to the CFP.

Instead...they're in a fight for survival in these stupid super conferences we made for ourselves.

The one change I would make to CFB would be to bring back the old conferences. Including the Big East and SWC.

I'd even keep the current transfer portal to get rid of superconferences.

Whats the angle here? ND is the one who refuses to join a conference, but you give USC shite for joining 1 of the two major conferences.

The sport is making it to where there is almost no incentive for playing one of these major out of conference games.

If ND is going to get preferential treatment for the playoffs while not being in a conference, every other P4 team should tell them to kick rocks.

I agree that this would be a good replacement game for USC to schedule. USC has lost 7 out of the last 8 games to Notre Dame.

All of these games can come back if the schools choose. I mean I'd be fine if Oklahoma and Nebraska played each other each year as their main out of conference game. The same with Mizzou and Kansas. With 9 conference games in the SEC and B1G one big non conference game of the year is fine.

Exactly. I'd much rather have 128 independents scheduling the rivals their fans care about. Just reward teams going on the road and getting quality wins. And then we can get everything from Auburn Georgia Tech to Cincinnati Miami back.

ND should be blackballed until they join a conference. The 5 game acc thing is dumb abd Clemson just gave them a 10 year agreement.....just force them to join a conference

Similarly to Miami, if USC had beaten ND this year, it’s possible / likely they would’ve been in the CFP at 10-2. If they had replaced ND with San Jose St this year and beat them (instead of losing to ND) to finish 10-2, they still wouldn’t have made it.

I’m aware of the Texas-OSU situation, but on the flip side, strong OOC wins can still help.
