One of the semifinal games is played on a random Thursday Jan 8th
The entire schedule is absolutely idiotic
You are Mingo so I can’t wait for you to dig in and say now that makes total sense

Yeah, semis should be on NYD. Finish 7-10 days later. But, I'm guessing the Rose wouldn't want to rotate the semis.

So your main complaint is that the CFP runs into the NFL playoffs & no one will care about college anymore…. But let’s complain when they schedule the college games before the NFL Wild Card
Are you really this clueless?
CFP semifinal #1 Thursday 1/8
CFP semifinal #2 Friday 1/9
NFL Wild Card Saturday 1/10
NFL Wild Card Sunday 1/11

Because of them running so late they play a semi final game, one of the biggest games of the year, on a THURSDAY
You don’t need to fight so hard to defend something so fricking stupid

It just isn’t that big of a deal either way

So what are you upset about exactly?
That there’s one weekend where the CFP/NFL games overlap on 12/20?

Yahoo was probably being overdramatic, but they acted like this was a major issue as things were winding down last season.

I'll still watch everything, but I do wonder if there is viewer fatigue after rivalry weekends, CCGs, and then four rounds of playoffs.

It won’t take long for nobody to care about football either after this year. The committee nuked it. It’s just a race for the playoffs.
Yep. And this is sad because winning the SEC is a hell of an accomplishment and should be a defining moment for a season.

Army vs. Navy dude!!!!!!!!!

The issue isn’t the week between the end of conference title weekend and playoffs. The issue is the 10 days between every fricking round. Just knock them out week to week after the first one.

Also, James Madison & Bama just played a game. Why put them at a disadvantage vs an opponent who just had a bye week?
Happens all the time during the season.

They sound be wrapping up the semis with the New Years bowls.
Start the season a week earlier
Drop the conference champ games

Army-Navy weekend, commie.

they want the 2nd round games on New Years.
Tying the playoffs to NYD is part of the problem with the schedule to begin with.

I had viewer fatigue last year and my team won the national title.
It's exhausting to go that long

The one solution that I would be on board with - is they could do all of the playoffs in December & have the National Championship in Pasadena every year on NYD.
I’m not sure if there are any financial incentives to have a rotating destination for championship game, but that makes the most sense.
