I will say this...as a huge Detroit Lions fan...I could only imagine the response from Saints fans if Ndamukong Suh or Nick Fairley were ever linked to a bounty system.

"Ban them forever"

"Fire Schwartz"

"Did you see the Suh hit on ----"

But since it is the Saints...it is automatically Goodell's fault.

Couldn't have said it better myself. They are so hypocritical.

Most hypocritical/delusional fan base in the NFL, imo

Pretty sad that they have to troll this thread for non Saints fans when they have their own board to bitch and moan on.

NFL is talking with the players association to find out what they will go along with.

soon.

none of the announced penalties surprise me:

lying to the investigators really is a bad idea.

Agreed, I mean just go read Saints Talk. I can't believe they're trying to justify this.

The best is Lester Earl claiming they weren't attempting to injure anyone despite having bounty payoffs for cart-offs and knock-outs.

Remember how much they were bitching about Fairley trying to take out players and hurt them? And now its OK that they put bounties on other NFL players for cart-offs and such...

Just wow.

You are always calling people trolls when you are one of the biggest troll on this site. You start an anti-Saints thread on a Louisiana based board, knowing damn well that "Non Saints Fans" in your title would indeed fire them up and bring them in here to argue.

We get it, you're an edgy Pittsburgh fan who live in New Orleans. Cool.

You play college baseball for Christ's sake. Spend more time bettering your game as opposed to riling up people on a message board. Maybe grow up in the process. I'm sure Coach Cass would be very appreciative.

I'm not a Saint's fan, but every fanbase goes delusional when shite like this happens. Hell, there were some Pats fans that thought Spygate was waaaay overblown.

Why you mad?

I started this thread on the MSB, not Saints Talk. I put non Saints fans, so this wouldn't turn into a pissing match. I made no flames in the OP. This is one of the biggest scandals in NFL history. Forgive me if I'd like to start a thread about it.

Please tell me how in doing any of this I've trolled?

If the Broncos are/were doing something like this, I'd expect them to get hammered and I'd fully be behind getting rid of everyone involved. There's no room for that shite. Sadly, it took a coach to bring down the Broncos franchise, not a punishment. I'm looking at you, Josh McDaniels.

In addition, I'm not "edgy" nor is this a anti-Saints thread by anymeans.

Saints Talk is probably not really representative of the average Saints fan.

I figured 8 games for Payton until I read the report - the 1 year is justified.

Its a perceived media thing. I honestly can't be independent with the Saints anymore, because I live here. I see more of them on the news than I would had I stayed in NH. I also deal with Saint's fans every day. Is there a part of me that is kinda laughing at this because of all the flack I got when Spygate hit (and I got a lot), yes. The overriding part of me feels pretty badly though. When it all boils down to it, these Saint's fans didn't do anything wrong, their team did. They made some poor decisions, and while it's costing the team, its ultimately costing the fan base. It can also be argued that these are the glory years of the Saint's franchise.

Lulz

Let someone start a thread that says "Non Steeler Fans" in the title and you'd be the first person in there arguing whether Hines Ward should be in the HOF or that James Harrison doesn't deserved to fined. BUT IT SAYS NON STEELERS!!111

I know you can be doing better things with your time than trolling Saints fans. You've been doing it all year.

Good luck.

I'm sorry. I should hate the NFL right now and whine about how these penalties are unjust like the rest of your fan base is.

Whether Ward deserves to be in the HOF is not one of the biggest questions/scandals in NFL history. There also isn't a "Steelers board" to talk about that on.

If anything, you and your fellow Saints fans have trolled this thread.

After reading the report, the penalties were justified. One can argue that Goodell went easy on the Saints.

Does it suck that your team just took a huge blow? Sure
Do I feel bad? Not at all. They made their own bed.

And before you accuse me of trolling or being biased, I was an employee in the Saints front office. I have nothing but love and respect for the people over there.

Legal hits on qb are totally uncalled for if there's a $500 locker room bounty.

But hits like this are ok so long as sanchez doesn't receive a locker room reward.

This is why they got hammered. I bet all of the penalties would have been 50% less across the board and it would have been one 5th or 6th instead of two 2nds instead if it would have just been about the bounties. But they tried the old tricky dick nixon cover up.

they were pretty bad at it then.

Answer me this, if they were intentionally trying to hurt other players:

-How come the NFL didn't notice? They started looking into this in early 2010. Do you not think they watched every Saints game closely from then on? How come it took until 2012 playoffs for the league to come down on them?

-How come TV commentators didn't take notice? They have just about every angle available in slow motion. It would have been obvious.

-Do you really think the coaches backed bounty programs for the players where they would get paid to go out of their way to intentionally hurt a player? Which would in turn risk a 15 yard penalty in a game that could change the outcome? Or even worse an ejection or suspension(like your boy James Harrison).

In summary, attempting to intentionally injure a player is a lot different than getting incentive if you happen to knock a player out of a game legally, within the rules of the game.

I think most people agree when a player is intentionally trying to hurt a player (ie stomping on a player,a deliberate late hit, deliberately going after a knee, even launching yourself into a defenseless WR) it is quite obvious. Yet the Saints were under a microscope for over 30 games by the NFL and not a peep from the league about the Saints intentionally trying to hurt players?

Please, address those issues. Because you conveniently passed them over last time i posted them.
