and just doing a simple search, 10 different steelers were fined last year by the NFL on over 15 different occasions, totaling around $300k in fines.

and this chump wants to pretend the Saints are dirty

Wasn't expecting Payton to get a whole year and I expect Vilma to get a hefty suspension for encouraging actual injury, not performance. I figured it'd be a BIG fine and a few picks forfeited.

Agreed I understand they couldn't take a first this year because they already traded it away but I thought they would at least take the 2nd this year and the first next year. I thought Payton would get 10 games.

I thought Payton should have been a little less but I don't understand why Loomis is allowed to operate this offseason. His job is mOstly over come regular season.

I have no problem with them being disciplined. They deserve.

Peytons suspension was excessive though.

My whole point in addressing the particulars is that is really not as bad as it sounds. When you hear players say "yea we had bounties too" they aren't talking about trying to intentionally hurt players. Its all rewards for stuff that happens within the game.

Stupid and arrogant, sure. Winning trumps everything however.

I actually use to like the SAINTS until 2008, then I started cheering for the CHIEFS since it's easier to attend their games, watch their games, etc. I still like for the SAINTS to do good. I hate how the NFL is handling this situation. Suspending a coach for a year is a lil too far.

Also like some other posters said, I'm sure EVERY or MOST teams have some kind of bounty system. Isn't it kind of strange how the Chiefs took out not ONE but TWO QB's awhile back, Brady and Palmer. Hmmmm. I can remember some players saying the Chiefs were playing dirty.

No this is the thread where non-biased sports fans (or at least some of us) talk about what the saintards on this board don't seem to understand because it is their team.

Marcellus Wiley, Mike Golic and the like are HUGE biased Saintards.

Pretty sad that they have to troll this thread

You keep saying Saints fans are "trolling" this thread. Please point out specifically where someone has "trolled." It sounds like you think any counter opinion to what you think is "trolling."

And you are on a Louisiana based message board, do you really think Saints fans are going to offer no counter perspective to a circle-jerk against them? In fact, name one thread on this site that has ever said, "For such and such only, your thoughts on this..." where the group meant to be excluded has abstained from defending themselves in the thread...it never happens.

So quit being a bitch and learn to make a better argument if you can't handle people disagreeing with you.

saints fans are delusional hyopcrites let's face it. I mean take an upstanding guy like bdwolfpack. Now, this guy says they were reckless and should not have been endangering fellow players. An upstanding guy like wolf would probably want any player out of the game who is endangering his fellow players with such play, right?

quote:

How does he get a game suspension for roughing the passer (not helmet to helmet + not thrown out the game), and Suh only gets two games for driving someone's head in the ground and stomping on them?

Goodell is such a biased pos.

Regardless of this suspension, Harrison will not stop playing with the hard-nose intensity that's made him a force in this League.

Amazing how Goodell is only a biased piece of shite when it affects his team huh? Also, Payton "deserves" to be out for the year, but Harrison a guy who consistently plays dirty and endangers other players with his stupidity and recklessness got a harsh penalty of 1 game, huh? So wolfpack you're for player safety, but not if it effects how your LB plays because well he's such a great force? fricking douche you can remove yourself from your high horse now.

Goodell is a dictator. Straight up. Anyone who doesn't believe it is lying. The Saints deserved to be punished because of the cover up, no doubt about it.

The media made this way worse than it ever had to be. If Goodell wanted to stop all of this bounty stuff he should have attacked all the teams who participated in it. Like previously stated, we got punished because we didn't listen to the front office and continued doing what they told us not to. Thats completely understandable. However, for all non-Saints fans to claim that its because of the the hits is bullshite. Sure we went after key players but so did James Harrison and the entire Steelers defence, the entire Ravens defense, and (insert NFL defense). For all of you who think otherwise are hypocritical
