Just saying what’s true. Yes I’m still sore about 2010 when a 7-9 Seahawks and Marshawn decided to go Beastmode on my 11-5 Saints that Wild Card game.
Just cause you’re in a shitty division doesn’t mean you should host.
I’d be willing to even say within 2 games maybe you get the chance to host. Anymore separation than that isn’t fair. Puts no value in regular season.
NFL South was a Hot Mess and Tampa isn’t great either. They are in by default because everyone else sucked worse.
Tampa should have their asses in Dallas right now.

If Mark Ingram does not run out of bounds, the Saints could be hosting.

Meh is what it is and the nfl won’t change it. On the surface I agree though. Auto playoff bid for winning the division should be enough.

It’s so stupid. I don’t why they can’t just seed them 1-7 regardless of who won. The division. Getting an automatic playoff spot is more than enough for a division winner

Everyone knows the rules are the beginning of the season.

Win your division.

An amendment: to host, all division winners must have a winning record, is not unreasonable.

That’s fair but again what we saw tonight showed the better team the Cowboys should have hosted. Especially with 4 more “important” season wins. That’s a lot.

never thought I’d see Otto argue for something because “that’s the way it’s always been”

Nah, if the receiver we traded everything for (Olave) only had 3-4 key drops and/or fumbles instead of 4/5, the Saints would have hosted.

I’d rather blame the guy we spent the most draft capital of the team on, not a minimum contract, old running back, that was injured.

I agree. I will add to it and say that the #1 seed having a first round bye and home field advantage is too much advantage over the #2 seed.

It was a fairer system, IMO, when the top two seeds both had byes. There were also three divisions back in the day with the top wild card hosting in the WC round, so it was less common for a team to travel to a team with a worse (especially significantly worse) record.

Agreed, it's beyond ridiculous they have not changed this yet.
