Well, Nike has direct competitors that pretty much fill the exact same need for their consumer
A lot easier to boycott that then the nfl that has no true competitor
Their consumers are not old white people

Is this just a brilliant advertising stratagy by Nike?
Posted on 9/5/18 at 6:24 am to LanierSpots
Absolutely brilliant. I'm sure their sales are going to increase simply because their target market will want to buy more.... while those who never spend much on Nike burn things and talk about boycotts.

Nike made Kaep one of the faces of the company and gave him his own brand.
Under Armour has Steph Curry as the face of their company, he told Donald Trump to drop dead.
The difference: Steph Curry's statistically the greatest shooter in the history of basketball and one of the greatest players to ever play basketball whereas Kaep, since leading the 49ers to the NFC Title Game again in 2013, has been a marginal to bad quarterback to the point he was BENCHED FOR BLAINE GABBERT. Even though he wasn't statistically bad in 2016, he only won 1 game as starter out of 11. Now one could blame the defense for that outcome but Aaron Rodgers doesn't play with a great defense either and the Packers still win games so I don't wanna read that bullshite. It's that simple: Kaep's assets don't exceed his liabilities to sports and perception, Mr. I Know Everything about the Stock Market.

Puma made Jay-Z the ambassador of their company. Both he and Queen bee are unapologetically black.
They're also 2 of the greatest musical artists and businesspeople of this generation, are you getting to a point anytime soon?

Adidas has all the other rappers who support Kaep as the faces of their brand
Who, specifically?

If you don't know what the protest is about by now. It's either because you don't want to know, you've been living under a rock, you're dumb as a rock or you're just another pretentious liar like 2000 who are pretending that they think it's about the flag or the troops. Depending on what day it is
I know that they co-opted an actual problem of police brutality/militarization and picked some of the worst cases to throw their support behind. I don't care who kneels and who stands, but turning it into a race issue pissed me off beyond belief.

Must be the reason why Kap turned down the purported offer from the Broncos.

Talk about living in a bubble. Nike isnt some niche brand that only targets a certain demographic. Their most popular shoe is the tanjun, which is sold in kohls. their second? Chuck taylors.

Hat tip to Klark Kent for posting this on the poli board. Whitlock was killing it on Speak For Yourself. All of the ex jocks were ticked at him and said there is nothing wrong with taking money to spread your message.

Then the announcement of the Nike campaign occurred, and that was too much for Morgan. He wrote, “ … it turns out Nike have not just been paying him vast sums of money throughout this whole protest process, they have also just signed him up to a whacking new multi-million dollar deal. So in terms of financial reward, he hasn’t really sacrificed much at all, let alone 'everything.' Indeed, it could be argued that Kaepernick will now make more money from Nike and the vast PR impact of this new deal than he ever would have done as an ageing, declining football player.”
Morgan quoted Jason Whitlock, Fox Sports commenter, who bristled, “Told y’all from Day One this has always been about the money. All of it. Revolutionaries aren’t sponsored by major corporations. It’s been a hustle from the giddy-up.” Morgan commented, “He’s got a point hasn’t he?”
Morgan concludes, “Until today, I genuinely thought Colin Kaepernick was acting purely from a point of fiercely held principle, and one I happen to agree with. Now, I’m not so sure. By taking Nike’s money, Kaepernick’s made it seem like he won’t salute the flag, but he will bow down to the dollar. And by filling his boots with corporate cash, he’s made a mockery of any suggestion that he’s been ‘sacrificing everything.'”

All he can do is do ad hominem attacks and deflect. He didn't even answer my question about what the African American community is doing within to change itself and image.
