It’s bittersweet. I think most Avs faithful have known it’s coming due to his contract, but Sammy G was one of the cornerstones to the rebuild and turnaround. Injuries really prevented him from reaching his potential. By all accounts a wonderful person and great locker room guy.

Yeah I'm sure it means the world to him.
Can't wait for the next 2-3 nights. Really a 5-game season for a lot of teams on the bubble when it comes to the approaching trade deadline on March 6.

Watching the Rangers/Flyers pregame and can’t help but think all over the USA they’re similarly celebrating the team USA members of the home team and those on team Canada have to sit in their cuck chairs and watch.
