Man, it would be horrible if Fla. somehow found a way to lose this now.

Terrible goal allowed by Skinner, that’s an easy glove save
Yeah, first look I thought he got screened by Kulik but on the replay that should have been a routine save.

Fla is hitting hard now….

If MacDavid wants to put himself in the Gretzsky, Lemieux, Messier tier he can start by being the most dominant player on the ice next period.

The Panthers are finally playing their game again tonight.

Yep. My issue with McDavid is he doesn't tend to dominate a game even while putting up tons of points (mostly assists). He needs to step up like he did in first round of 2022 v Kings Game 7 and take over. He keeps looking for the extra pass and it isn't working for him tonight.
During that huge sequence of no stoppage, he passed up a wide open shot from the point to pass out to the boards. Too passive - a la the criticisms of Lebron lack of killer instinct.

Their speed has been absolutely gone the last 3 games. Looks like they found it just in time. This 3rd is going to be a grind with lots of hitting.

Yeah, so far this game has come down to Verhage and Reinhart cashing in on opportunties and MacDavid and Dreisheidl not only not cashing in on opportunites but also not creating opportunities to cash in on.

It felt like Edmonton really controlled that period but for some quick transition plays.
The puck seemed to be constantly in Florida's end like a prolonged power play. Shite Florida couldn't clear the zone most of the time.
Don't know why. the commentators said Florida dominated the 2nd period.
They were good on defense but had very little offense but for that transition goal off a near goal by the Oilers.

Edmonton had the puck in the offensive zone for a lot of the period but other than the play right before the Reinhart goal they didn't produce any "that was close" moments with it. Most of the puck possession was along the boards or out by the blue line. They never really got into the juicy scoring positions between the face off dots or in the crease where they had Florida's defense scrambling and off balance.

I wonder how the ice quality is there - we're late into June in Miami
I've seen at least three people just lose their footing and go sliding, including the Tkachuk penalty and McDavid (which never happens)

Enough of this overhead camera angle. It's an unnecessary gimmick no one asked for.

If McJesus doesn’t win a cup I’m still going with my guy Nate Mac as current NHL alpha dog. Gotta win a Cup to be top dog.
