That seems like a frick up by the refs. If the spike never happened, then that time shouldn't have been run off

Because that's when they decided to review it. They gave Cincy a free 3 points that they wouldn't have been able to get without the review. They should have let time expire, told the teams to stay, then reviewed it, putting time back on the clock only if it was incomplete.
ETA: Reading they got the spike off before review. Nevermind.

Can someone explain to me why the clock started to run after the spike? It started to run when the ref blew the whistle

Because the play was reviewed, technically the spike never happened

The NFL will release a statement tomorrow saying that the refs fricked that up.

That was a shite show. If the spike never happened then you have to put time back on the clock. Nothing was overturned so the call was correct on the field so why should the offense be penalized?

had issues with uverse at first, I had the repairman come out 4 times over a 3 month period because it would randomly lose connection for increments of 5 to 10 minutes.

The service sucks. They keep telling me I have a defective modem, but this is the third one. It always goes out on the weekend too.
