I thought for sure it would be a toss sweep.

It was good defense there but just hate the call.

Some of these coaches are just idiots. Ball at the 1. And that’s the call. You deserve the loss.

The Bills were lined up to stop it up the middle. A toss to the left would’ve been money

Nfl is such an awesome product. One of the Super Bowl favorites can almost lose to the worst team in the nfl playing with a backup

It was illegal defense.

Reminds me of Jed Fisch's call in the 2 pt conversion against USC in 3ot.

It's like the playcaller didn't realize that they only had one play to score.

There is 0 consistency on how NFL refs officiate illegal contact, holding and PI from play to play.

You could argue pretty easily that play had all 3

I’m fine with a no call if they would no call that same play all game. Instead you get a sack for 10 yard loss on 3rd and 8 yet there’s a 5 yard auto first down for illegal contact on the other end of the field because a defender just touches a receiver multiple times a game.

Which is good defense. Worse case scenario if they throw the flag is they barely move the ball up.

Because it’s the hardest thing to call in all of sports. Grown arse men running 4.4 forties all over the field and you have to watch it all and decide what it allowed contact and what is too much. It’s truly impossible to expect them to call it that great

It’s why I wish they wouldn’t call it the vast majority of the time.

Illegal contact and PI on long deep 50/50 balls or under throws will always piss me off. At least holding generally you can see

I mean it 100% a penalty on the bills guy at the end. No doubt. But the refs don’t want to call two in a row at the end of a game.

Terry McAuley explanation is that it can’t be defensive holding because the ball was already in the air when the jersey was grabbed. Therefore, the only option is pass interference, but just holding the jersey does not necessarily mean it’s PI unless it significantly hinders the receiver, which is a judgment call by the ref.

Just holding the jersey would allow a holding call if it occurred before the ball was thrown.

What difference does it make how many times in a row? If it’s PI, it’s PI. That was more blatant than the first.

Bro - the Bills defender held him for 8 yards all the way through the end zone. Before the ball was thrown and after the ball was thrown. It was defensive holding and pass interference. Terry McAuley is just mumbling a bunch of meaningless words.

The offensive play callers in the NFL have become almost comical. Most of them seem more focused on calling that “wow” play that people are going to talk about rather than just doing what works.

Nobody runs the ball when all was needed a kneel down for the win. I forgot that University of Miami did that not too long ago.
