It would be nice to play the Bills in the playoffs once without losing our starting safety to a concussion a minute into the game.

Just went back and looked at that play. It was indeed a forward pass. About a yard.

It’s forward relative to itself. It it’s on your own 31 and moves to the 32, it’s a forward pass. If you were somehow standing on the 32 and released it from the 31, it would still be forward if it was caught at the 32.
