The NFL has issued a pair of suspensions to officials after incidents with players during Sunday’s games.

The league has suspended referee Adrian Hill one game and line judge Jeff Seeman for two games for unprofessional conduct. The suspensions were issued by NFL vice president of officiating Ramon George.

Hill was knocked over by Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson while Wilson was being blocked by Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon through the whistle. Hill got up and got in Wilson’s face while yelling at him to get back to his team’s huddle. Wilson was not penalized on the play.

Cameras caught Seeman saying “f—k you” twice to Cardinals tight end Trey McBride after McBride complained about the lack of a flag for pass interference during Arizona’s loss to the Giants. The NFL Players Association called Seeman’s response “unacceptable” in a statement to PFT on Sunday.

They should be forced to attend press conferences where they can be questioned by writers, just like players and coaches.

I've heard this before, and I don't disagree.

This one doesn't bother me as much because the players and coaches yell much worse at the refs constantly. Had there been no audio nothing comes of this.

The ref losing his shite on the Vikings player is a different story. Yes, I'm sure getting knocked down by a player isn't fun. But the Vikings player didn't purposes hit the ref. However, even if the ref did no realize that in the moment, the player didn't make any menacing gesture at the ref after knocking him down. He immediately tries to help the ref up showing he had no intent to knock him down. That was over the top.

Hell, I was at a 7th grade football game yesterday. There was a play along the sideline where one player made a big hit. One of the players on the sideline got excited for his teammate and accidently bumped into the ref who was running down the sideline to the play. The kid didn't see the ref coming. The ref was a pretty big guy. He wasn't knocked down. In fact, the kid took more of the blow. Nonetheless, the ref lost his shite on the kid and started screaming in his face. The poor kid was stunned and walked away sadly after getting chewed out by the ref. It looked like the kid was about to cry, but he held it together.

Careful with the precedents you set. Cursing at a ref could cost your team 15.

Why was Wilson suspended? What he did was not egregious in any way. He was visibly frustrated.

The coach should have wore that ref out for doing that to his player. Ref or not, that is a kid.

Feel like the dude who lost it because he got bumped should be suspended longer than the FU guy. I’m sure the refs and players go back and forth all the time.

Someone on X posted a series of short videos showing NHL referees repeatedly telling NHL players “frick you, shut the frick up, go frick yourself, etc.” No suspensions. NFL guy likely only got suspended because they caught him on camera in a social media world.

I love NHL refs. You very rarely know they're there, and the fact that none of us really know them by name is a good thing (unlike the NFL, where we know many of them by name).
