NFL games in college stadiums

Article about how the proposed change to a 17 game schedule would work. They state each team's additional game would be played "out of market" and the idea to play in US cities that do not have pro teams was brought up (& appears to have been well received.)
I think it's a cool idea. It'd be fun to watch a solid matchup in Tuscaloosa or South Bend. I doubt they'd have issues filling the stands.

It was Katrina... But the Saints had issues filling the stands in Baton Rouge

This is a terrible idea. NFL demands billion dollar stadiums then wants to move home games like they are candy. Pathetic!

A cowboys game at War Memorial in Little Rock would be lit. I’m guessing that’s not the type of college stadium they’d be considering.

The Panthers played at Clemson while their stadium was being built because our AD wouldn’t let them play in Columbia for some reason.

Ticketing being a clusterfrick did not help matters.
Went to Saints-Dolphins there and there were a ton of people filtering in late because they were having to get their Dome tickets exchanged for Tiger Stadium ones.

Driving to Baton Rouge for anyone that wasn't already staying there was a nightmare at that time, on top of everything else people were dealing with. That team was also a dumpster fire and fans were pretty much done with Haslett and his crew already.
After a decade of sustained success and a generation of fans that have now watched the Saints win more than lose, I think think they'd have no problem filling up Tiger Stadium.

Sure, the Saints in Baton Rouge would easily draw a huge crowd. But what about someone like the Titans in Tuscaloosa?

The chiefs flirted with this idea when the rams left to try and get more of our people to jump on. thwy wanted to play at mizzous stadium because its only 1.5 hours outside of stl. Honestly its a good idea from that stand point, but the ST holders for the chiefs were pissed(rightfully so)

Yeah you couldn’t just send teams to play wherever, but I can see how it could work situationally in certain markets if you send a team that travels well to an iconic stadium that’s close enough.
Definitely the saints in Baton Rouge. Or maybe the Packers to Ann Arbor. Pittsburg against the Ravens in Happy Valley sounds like it would work. Or Seattle in Oregon’s stadium.

You’d basically IMO need an NFL fan base that travels well or has a big national/regional market going to a city that likes the NFL. I don’t think many southern venues would draw a good crowd. I could very well be proven wrong but I just don’t see it. I do think Notre Dame and other northern venues could work for a one-off game though.
