Anyone want to explain why the good people of Fargo care to watch the Dolphins and Chargers? (1st map)

NCAA gives me every decent game on one of my cable channels. They scrapped their regional model 15 years ago.

Didn't they still have regional tv schedules on ABC a few years ago? Either way, it hasn't been 15 years. I can remember times in the last 5 to 10 years where ABC had multiple games and it depended on where you were as to what game you got.

Vikings are on Fox at 12, so they have to show a late game on CBS. It's either that one or Jets vs Raiders and I guess they randomly picked that one since neither is particularly appealing.

Yello- Chicago @ Tampa Bay

This shite is why NFL rating are down. No one wants to watch these sorry arse teams. The NFL cannot figure out that artifically shorting supply is not going to increase demand in the average viewer. It turns them off the from viewership.

Chargers/Broncos and Cowboys/Broncos will have both been on TV to start the season. I might be able to get NFL Sunday Ticket for a pretty good bargain now going into week 3.

It basically disappeared when ABC Sports merged with ESPN. They ensure the best games are on one of their channels. No more missing Oklahoma/Texas or Florida/Tennessee b/c Duke/Florida State play at the same time. There are 14 games on ABC/ESPN channels alone this Saturday. NFL has been following the same stupid two network 2-1 (or sometimes 1-1) model for 40 years while television viewing options have exploded all around them.

I love how they punish Baton Rouge if the Saints game doesn't sell out

The game is sold out and comes on CBS at noon. Because of that there is no early game shown on Fox. Baton rouge is not blacked out. When was the last time a Saints game didn't sell out, over a decade?

Thank god New Orleans is playing the pats and get all the coverage in the world now.

Too bad I'll be at the game and miss out on the one week we get the game in Dallas

I found it interesting Fresno, Bakersfield, and San Diego doesn't even want to show Lambs game.

ABC used to have 3-4 regional games on Sat afternoon. Within the past 5-10 years I think they will only broadcast 2 at the same time. The other non-ABC game is available on ESPN2 alternative plus ESPN3/Streaming.

I wish they would show alternate games on the local channels' alternate channels. They could still show all the commercials the main channel shows and overall you would have more people watching.

I am going to hate moving to VA for this reason. Hardly ever show Saints games.

How did the Fargo area get the Dolphins/Chargers?

The CBS affiliate in Fargo (KXJB) can only air one game this Sunday (Fox's turn to air a doubleheader, CBS will get theirs next weekend) and did not want to compete with the Vikings game on Fox at 12pm, so it went with the 3pm window of:

Blue- NY Jets @ Oakland (LATE)
Green- Miami @ LA Chargers (LATE)

Neither one of those games are top-notch, or Fargo-related, so I don't believe there was a lot of thought into this decision. They had to choose one, and chose Miami-LA.

It could have come down to, "Which game is Minneapolis choosing? Okay we'll take the other one."

Thats because back in the day, you only had ABC, Fox, NBC, CBS and one ESPN. So they couldnt broadcast every game, so that was reason for regional games.

Now there's ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, BTN, Pac12N, FS1, multiple regional Fox Sports Networks, etc...enough networks to broadcast most Power 5 games nationally
