Mexico City actually makes somewhat sense for the NFL. Travel would be less of a burden and its not 5-8 time zones over from other NFL cities

What NFL players would want to live in Mexico City? That’s got to be the issue.

Mexico City has a lower crime rate than Houston and has some amazing areas especially if you’re a OT or NFL baller.

I’d much rather love there than Jacksonville or Kansas City.

You realize the average high in Mexico City is like 70-80 degrees year round right? With very low humidity.

Amazing climate

I didn't know that. I stand corrected.

Marketing. There are 30 million Mexicans living there who are potential jersey buyers and tv watchers.

Because attendance isn’t the most important thing anymore. Something else is more important.

Yeah - and this is my last post on the subject - but I think people generally aren’t aware of how culturally similar Mexicans are to your typical southern baw. They love them some bud light, football, and trucks.

And Metallica. They really love Metallica for some reason.

Anyone else catch at the first of the broadcast how ESPN was sucking up to how good of shape the playing field was in? Talked about all the prep work that went into having the field in grade A, their words, shape for an NFL game. Imo, the field was shite. Haven't seen that many divots on a field in a while.

I did appreciate the dressing up of the senorita that sang the Mexican national anthem. A lot classier than the two chicks that sang ours.

Yep. Heard a lot of 80s metal blasting from cars while I was down there. Sure beats the crap our local populace likes to blast.

The time difference is one of the reasons the NFL likes London. Gives them more options for TV time slots.

That sucks if its true. They'll have to have London kickoffs at 9:30-10am EST. Which means the ratings they get from the UK in that time slot will be mostly offset by shite ratings in the US because those games will be kicking off at 6:30 on a Sunday morning while most people are still asleep.

And I can't imagine many London fans will be staying up to watch Thursday/Sunday/Monday night games that don't kick off until 1 AM local time.

A team in Mexico City would make NFL football extremely popular in Mexico (which has 2x the population of the UK), increase interest among Mexicans living in the US, and I think you'd probably have less resistance from the NFLPA because it eliminates the issues with players being jetlagged from 8-9 hour time differential.

If Goodell did that he would be removed as commissioner. Mexico City is too dangerous.
