NFC Playoff Predictions

With Philly's loss we realistically have 8 teams playing for the 6 spots.
Green Bay, San Francisco, Dallas, New York, New Orleans, Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago
With 2 of those (SF,GB)already pretty much locked up. That leaves 6 teams playing for the remaining 2 division and 2 wild card slots.
Of those, NY has the toughest schedule and Atlanta has by far the easiest. It will be very hard for the Falcons to finish at worst 10-6 so I think they take one spot. With Cutlers injury and the Giants tough schedule, and Detroit and Dallas inconsistency, the Dallas/NY game to end the season will probably decide the Division Champ with the loser missing the playoffs.
Packers 15-1
49ers 12-4
Saints 10-6 Edit to 11-5
NY 10-6
Atl 10-6
Bears 10-6 Sneak in with an easy schedule
Bottom line, the top of the NFC is very strong this year and a 10-6 team could very well miss the playoffs

Kind of nit picking but no way the Saints go 10-6.

I just put them splitting.
Not like it matters that much because San Francisco is taking the other bye.
Bottom line, Saints are winning the division

Yeah, no way Saints go any worse than 4-2 with the remaining schedule.

I wouldn't be certain. It is possible the Saints win out (the schedule for the rest of the season isn't too difficult) and the 49ers drop to Pittsburgh. I don't think a tie between the two would be that far fetched.
ETA: what would the tie breaker be? NFC record? In that case San Fran would get it.

It will be interesting to see if the Giants can close down the stretch. I wouldn't be surprised to see them open something up for Dallas.

I don't see the Saints winning out.
It's not to hard to see them dropping one of NY, Det, Atl plus they will have another shite the bed performance against a Carolina or Minnesota and Tenn. isn't that bad.
Meanwhile San Francisco gets St. Louis twice, Arizona, Seattle, and Pitt.

Yes, NFC record. San Fran would need to drop 2 games and the Saints would have to win out.
The loss to St. Louis is hurting right about now.

Not saying that it will happen. I just think its a possibility.
NYG have lost 2 straight. And the Saints always play lights out in the Dome in primetime games. Det is also skidding lately and will be without Suh. And I think they will beat Atl at home with the division possibly on the line.
If they get through those 3 all they have to do is not shite the bed vs the other 3. I'd say its very possible they win out.

I could see them losing to Pitt, but the NFC West is so bad its hard to see them dropping another game.

Seriously. WTF happened in that game?
Posted on 11/27/11 at 11:29 pm to Sir Saint
I see 9ers going 13-3 with 4 games against the west left (2 vs. The rams). And the one loss to pitt. Although that game is at home and you never know. They have the second seed locked up. Lions and bears don't make it. Packers, 9ers, saints (god I ahte the saints), giants, falcons, and cowboys in.

I think there is a good chance the Saints win out, but I can see losing 1 and then the last game not mattering, but no worse than 4-2.
I'll go:
GB 15-1
SF 13-3
NO 12-4
Dallas 11-5
Atl 11-5
Chic 10-6
I'll go:
GB 15-1
SF 13-3

Dallas 11-5
Atl 11-5

1. GB 16-0
2. SF 13-3

4. DAL 10-6
5. ATL 11-5
6. DET 9-7
2. SF 13-3
3. NO 12-4

The thing with Dallas is that they are so damn inconsistent.
They have NY twice, Phil., Arizona, and Tampa down the stretch.
It's not to far fetched to see them going anywhere from 2-3 to 4-1. I think/hope the Giants beat them twice and they drop a game to Philly.

I agree. But the lions and bears are horrible

I agree about the Lions, they are done.
@New Orleans L
Minn. W
@Oakland L
San Diego L/W
@Green Bay L
I think they finish 9-7
The Bears however have a pretty easy schedule even without Cutler and I think there Def./Hester along with Forte will be enough to get them into the playoffs. They played a good Raiders team pretty close today in Haine's first start. He should get better and they should go at least 3-2 down the stretch.
KC W
@Denver L Tebow
Seattle W
@Green Bay L
@Minn. W
I see them finishing at 10-6 and sneaking into the playoffs

It's definitely beginning to take shape. I agree it looks like GB and SF will be 1 and 2. I think GB drops 1 somewhere along the way. SF loses to the Steelers. And I'm gonna go on a limb here and say they just might lose a divisional game..it's hard to go undefeated in any division, even one as horrible as the NFC West. I think PP7 and his punt return skills might pull an upset on SF. So
Aside from that, Saints will have the door opened and have a shot to run the table and get the 2 seed which is what it would take. We finish no worse than 11-5, probable 12-4, possible 13-3.
East will come down to that NY/Dallas game at the end imo because both teams are inconsistent.
Wild card will be Atlanta and Chicago, with Detroit just missing out.
So standings
Packers 15-1
49ers 12-4
Saints 12-4 (possible 13-3)
NYG/Dallas 10-6
Bears 10-6
Falcons 10-6
I keep seeing people put the Falcons behind the Bears and I'm wondering why. If they finish with the same record, wouldn't Bears get the 5 seed due to beating Atlanta head to head?

SF loses to the Steelers.
Meh, I don't know about that. I don't see the Steelers putting up a lot of points on that defense. Offensively, the 49ers like to run the ball and that is something Pittsburgh has had problems with at times this year. I'd also give the edge to the 49ers on special teams.

The Raiders went undefeated in the AFC West last year and missed the playoffs. I agree, Seattle may give them a good fight in the rematch but its hard to say that the 49ers won't have the #2 seed come playoff time. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand those bastards either
