Robichaux didn’t ask for more? Lol come on guys with that shite
See, this is just being a dick. There's no way that Robe made less than the softball coach at the university unless he just didn't really push for more. He signed a contract right after a 58 win season, he could have easily gotten way more than what he got.

No doubt it’s nice but it boils down to what you are willing to pay someone. A top 50 job is not a slight. That can easily produce a perennial top 25 team most years

He do when is a decision expected
Posted on 7/10/19 at 6:26 pm to sms151t
Some time early to mid August is the target from what I'm hearing.

I’m sure Lester and Robe were real tight so he knows about the contract negotiations. Not every job in sec is better then ULL but yes most are. Lester is just throwing schools he’s heard of out there which is fine. He’s not factoring attendance, community support, recruiting base, affordability based on 11.7 scholarships,

is Babineaux the short term solution
Posted on 7/10/19 at 6:31 pm to sms151t
I'm sure whomever is chosen as the new coach will at least give strong consideration to keeping Bab around. He's been with Robe the entire time, he knows the program better than anybody else. I'd be surprised if he wasn't retained in some capacity. He's already moved to more of an operations role so it makes it easier to keep him.

He could be but I’m not sure he wants to. He’s had lots of chances to be a hc elsewhere but never jumped

Missouri is the only one I can think of that is even worthy of a debate

Obviously the money is there, and plenty of programs would’ve been happy to pluck Robichaux after the 2013-16 run but he didn’t even use it to leverage a big raise.
What’s the new coach going to make you think?
Posted on 7/10/19 at 6:38 pm to Lester Earl
Kentucky and Tennessee are debatable.

$300-350k depending on who is hired. This athletic department wants to be viewed as competing with the upper 20 programs in the G5 and the bottom 20 of the P5. In order to do that we must show a commitment to salaries and other improvements across the board.
The athletic department will surpass $40M budget within the next 3 years and that is without the benefit of huge conference and media rights revenue.

Probably someone like Deggs so I’d imagine anywhere from $300-500k.

After seeing the type of administrative support State gets, do you think he might have reservations about returning to Tulane? Or at least want certain assurances? I'm asking because I don't know how the current administration at Tulane looks at athletics.
I’m sure he he will.
The current administration has been better than it was for the past ~18 years, but we’ll see how committed to baseball Troy Dannen is.

That price would legitimize them for sure. Let’s see

There is no doubt about it, $300k will be the lowest they go. I would agree that $450-475 would be the very top of what would be reasonable if the hire is right.

Any chance they go after Blake Dean?
ETA: Riser would make sense too.
