Read through ESPN article, looks like James made the right call to cancel the media session. It was very hard for the players to answer questions from reporters.
Silver not act smart as James.

It was irrelevant they came to that agreement because China cancelled them anyway.

The biggest takeaway from all of this is the fact people's freedoms, and very lives, are less important than them losing money or endorsements.
That is a sad state of affairs on the world when a collective can't stand with one man about true, real, hard core injustice that China wishes to bring to Hong Kong people.
They should get educated before the speak, I agree there. Please do. Once you all have done so, players, you will have to have found out that if China gets their way and can extradite Hong Kong citizens to the mainland for "trial", their lives would never ever ever be the same. And the slippery slope that entails for the rest of Hong Kong is dark and dreary if they do not toe the party line.
So, continue to sadden that your posters were taken down, or your endorsement deal was shot down, or you didn't get a chance to make appearances, or the sale of your shoes drops. But, at the end of the day your every day life isn't about to drastically change in a way that fear becomes your most common emotion. Where 1984 becomes reality.
These men are what we knew they were already: disconnected from reality; never having to truly face true discrimination and risk of "losing all".
And to think Colin Kaepernick was and has been treated like a damn hero, and Morey is shat on.
Guys, pardon me for saying so, but GET frickED.

Chinese people love the CCP. If you ever travel there, you will find out CCP are the best and smartest people in the society.
The system work this way: you apply for CCP membership, the CCP will keep track of your progress. Only after you qualify, you get in. That is why almost all elite people are in CCP.

Basically lebron’s entire career he has been adamant that he will not “just shut up and play basketball”. Now that it is not convenient for him he not only wants to “just shut up and play basketball”, but he wants Morey reprimanded because he spoke up on an issue that will affect his revenue along with the nba. Hypocrite much?

Why are you in America if China is so great?
Posted on 10/16/19 at 2:46 am to NoisyNinja79
When I came to US in 1997 I have 50$ in my pocket. At that time, I was making 45$ per month in Beijing.
The reason I came to US is seeking better life economically.
I love US because I made my foutune here.
At the same time, as a person from another country, we tend to know more about the international stuff than most of Americans. Most Americans are just no clue about what happening outside North American.
Hongkong is a good example here.
Someone here is mentioning injustice without thinking. I am asking what injustice. If you know a little more about Hongkong, you will know what you are taught by the media are lies.

He's a troll. But that specific part you quoted is fact.
And the last sentence of that quote....we all say as much every day on the OT.

its 10% now. What about in 20 years?
There is a lot of misunderstanding about how much future spending power China actually has.
China's #1 problem right now is a huge need for capital.
I may post something on Money Talk today or tomorrow giving a primer since this continues to be the topic du juor.

Pre-Xi's "corruption crackdown", this was true. There has been a massive brain drain from the party after he began purging his political opponents.
Case in point: How the party conducted all of their capacity reductions in coal, aluminum, etc. over the past 3-4 years. Oddly similar to the Four Pests Campaign during the Great Leap Forward... albeit with 10s of millions less deaths.

He’s taking the shut up and dribble approach.

James, to paraphrase, told Silver he knew that if a player caused the same type of uproar from something he said or tweeted, the player wouldn't be able to skate on it. There would be some type of repercussion. So, James wanted to know, what was Silver going to do about it in Morey's case? Silver pushed back, reminding the players that the league never doled out discipline when they publicly criticized President Donald Trump. Morey was exercising the same liberty when he challenged China. Regardless of the financial fallout of one versus the other, that's not what should matter. He might have disliked the ramifications of Morey's tweet, but he would defend his right to say it.
This is a terrible look for Lebron.
