I watched it last night and agree with your take.
A couple of other thoughts:
By the time Brett Favre was sending texts to Jenn Sterger, Sterger has already appeared nude in Playboy. I'm not justifying Favre's behavior, but I can understand why he thought Sterger might be down for a good time. I realize that won't be a popular opinion but there it is
From the clips they showed of Jenn Sterger trying to be a sports talk personality, she was REALLY bad at her job. I'd guess that her firing had nothing to do with Brett Favre, She sucked. She came across as wooden; plastic; a lightweight

Seems accurate from what I have heard. Most stories of him at or around USM involve him being a drunken a-hole.
He made a few appearances at Baton Rouge establishments back in the 90s. Fairly accurate, especially in his younger days. I mean, he was 17 when he got his first college snaps as a true freshman and he was puking behind bench because he got so hammered the night before, thinking he wasn't going to play. No surprising that he never grew socially. He's not a very smart guy.

C'mon, she was just a sweet innocent nerdy band girl who was just putting her head down and trying to make it as a sideline reporter when she was preyed upon by the evil racist Brett Favre, who ruined her career.
Edit:
Not saying she deserved it or anything, but thought it was a little interesting how the doc was trying to portray her.
She worked for and was let go from the Jets after one season in 2008. The Deadspin article came out in late 2010. I just thought it was a bit ridiculous to hint that Favre was the reason for her sports media career coming to an end.

Sterger has always been an attention whore. She's just keeping her name out there.

I don’t think they're intended for hardcore sports fans. Which is dumb.
I don't think it's dumb. They want more than just hardcore sports fans to watch them. My wife is not one. She sat down and watched it with me. Her takeaway was "I had no idea Favre was such a POS." I was like "really?" This stuff has been out for a long time. But my wife, and other people like her, are why they're not intended for hardcore sports fans. They want to highlight the big things and make a digestible product that more people will watch

Jemele Hill being involved

She needs to slow down the botox. The wall is quickly approaching, this may be her last time being relevant
Posted on 5/21/25 at 12:45 pm to John Casey
Well shite. Didn’t know that bitch was involved. I will not be watching now
Posted on 5/21/25 at 12:45 pm to jmh5724
Agree. Her window is closing like a Star Trek door.
Posted on 5/21/25 at 1:08 pm to FightinTigersDammit
Her window closed about 15 years ago. I don't recall seeing her anywhere between the deadpsin article releasing and this documentary. And TBH, the height of her "fame" was Mussberger creeping on her on TV and then her being in Playboy. That was almost 20 years ago

Glad i see Jemelle Hill is involved. Means I won't watch it.

I read that Bennie Thompson and Jemele Hill were in the first five minutes.
Pass...
Pass...
Posted on 5/21/25 at 1:45 pm to G The Tiger Fan
Damn, Bennie is in it also? Pass...

Interviewing Vick and trying to make it racial was a swing and miss. Vick still played after going to prison. People also have more sympathy for dogs than they do welfare recipients.

I assume this is why Michael Vick was randomly in the documentary to allude that black QBs go to jail for their alleged crimes and white QBs don't because I don't remember Vick and Favre having any sort of connection at all.
Favre being a QB and playing 1 season at Atlanta a decade before Vick got there are the only things I can think of.
Not sure Favre has been accused of crimes while playing in the NFL and wasn’t convicted of any, and in general the respective crimes by each are treated differently without getting into being a QB, their race, the different stages of career & fame at the times, and the different states they took place in.
Vick and his entourage also had more crap going before the dog fighting and has had a lot more financial issues which were mostly while playing in the NFL (and continued to play afterwards). Vick got sued for giving someone herpes with the Ron Mexico deal while playing in the NFL before the dog stuff which cancels out dick pic which could not be proven.
Favre’s drinking and pill problems should have been more of a the focus. Playing with hangovers in college and the NFL. In college playing 8 weeks after a nearly fatal car crash which included losing part of his small intestine was likely due to both alcohol and pill abuse (the accident and playing so soon). Besides the likelihood of driving while intoxicated with the wreck I am not sure any of that was illegal. He was temporarily banned in the NFL at one point for alcohol and pain killer issues.

I know a younger guy who worked out with Favre when he working on an NFL return. At the time, this kid was playing mid level college football- WR. He said the first set of passes were hard but not crazy, then Favre said I’m gonna put a little extra on the next ones. He told me you could hear the ball whistle and the first one smacked him in the face.
Arkansas WR Anthony Lucas was drafted by the Packers and when he got to summer camp, he said Favre was hyper extending and sometimes outright fracturing people's fingers, his included. He said he had never seen a human being throw a football with that much velocity in his entire career. He said it was absurdly painful.
Also, I know a guy who grew up down the street from that family in MS. He said they were ALL hell on wheels. He said Favre's older sister was the worst. Said she beat the shite out of 2 guys in the neighborhood and was a holy terror.

It was not worth watching, extremely disappointing.
