Wonder how he parlayed a career that only included playing football and talking about football as an analyst into athletic administration and straight to the top as an AD at that

I don’t know. The Maria Taylor threads said that white people are the group most discriminated against in America.

The ending of the UNO wrestling team was a travesty. The team had won the National championship 6 out the previous 8 years. The team was not losing money and had the support of the community.
He also disbanded the football team.
I can understand… seems like they needed to get into Title IX compliance

Btw, on this board, UNO is the place on the lakefront. They’re Nebraska-Omaha, or call them Omaha

Being successful and discriminated against are 2 different things. A good home life and support system can go a long way. Not being a jackass and a victim all the time helps also.

Nebraska taking the USC hiring approach is a bold strategy.

Most of the blue blood programs eventually go through a similar phase.

Howard Schnellenberger‘s single season at Oklahoma was a disaster, and he was an outsider. So they replaced him with John Blake for the sole reason Blake had strong ties to Switzer. Blake’s three seasons were the worst in their history.

They then risked hiring another outsider, and Stoops won a NC two years later, but Sooner fans hated him at first because of his his offensive scheme. Mike Leach wasn’t running the wishbone.

Alabama only hired coaches with strong ties to Bear Bryant for the longest time. After the Dennis Francione/Mike Price era ended in embarrassment, they once again turned to their roots by hiring Mike Shula.

Michigan is still returning to Bo Schembechler disciples.

How do I get a gig with one of these search firms?

"So, who do you want to hire? Great! We'll write up a report and make sure they're one of the finalists."

When LSU defeats Nebraska in a football game perhaps then y’all can criticize their program.

Yeah and we all saw how Pat Haden and Lynn Sean worked out?

What's your administrative qualifications?

Oh you're a former player who was on TV calling games and glad-hands with rich alumni.
