Don't sleep on Nebraska... they are slowly improving. They make a lot of mistakes otherwise they very well could be undefeated right now. Tonight they played relatively mistake-free ball and this is the result. Their O-line is young but huge, and played much better tonight. Next week vs. Michigan in Lincoln should be a good one.

Their Defense was really tough last week vs MSU. I think if they managed better discipline they can make some noise.

I’ve never seen a team who has consistently self destructed like they have in their losses. They looked like the better team against OU. They just couldn’t get out of their own way.

Who would have thought in the preseason that game would be anything but a nap but it's going to be one to check out

I'm not convinced yet. Northwestern is in one of their periodical rebuilding years, and Nebraska's two other wins were against Buffalo and Fordham.

If they had finished off Sparty last week, I'd be sold more, but they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in the same way Frost's teams were doing in his first season.

I'm still waiting for them to prove they can win a big game.

Be real, they still suck and will be a near .500 squad when it’s all done. The physicality of the league beats their little bitch squad up every year, their coach is a huge tool, and their fans are the most lol worthy cock-knockers the big ten has ever seen.

If you’re keeping score, Nebraska is 5-21 versus Ohio state, Wisconsin, and Iowa since joining the big ten. They haven’t won a game against any of those three since 2014 with many total beat downs suffered along the way. They’re an absolute clown car of a program.

Close losses aren't necessarily an indicator of this team getting better, because Frost's tenure is littered with them. It shows this team still can't get over the hump.

In Frost's first season, Nebraska lost by 5 to Colorado after giving up 2 TDs in the final minute and a half. They also lost to Northwestern in OT after blowing a 10 point lead in the final two minutes, and lost to Iowa on a last second FG.

His 2nd season, they blew a 17-0 lead to Colorado and lost in OT. They also blew a lead at Purdue in the final minute.

I could go on, but you get my point.

Nebraska is trash. They dominated back in the big eight when Oklahoma got put on extremely punishing probation and then the big twelve north when Iowa state and Missouri were their rivals.

Joining the big ten, though a smart money grab, put them in the gutter for good. They’ll be lucky to play in another major bowl by 2030.

While what you say might very well be true, it's kinda hypocritical coming from a fan of a team who hasn't won anything in football since... well... ever.

And despite their woeful recent history, Nebraska still leads the all-time series with Iowa, 29–19–3.

In my opinion it won't be long until Nebraska in on par with Iowa & Wisconsin, which really isn't anything to brag about, but definitely better than what they have been recently.

NCAA actually recognizes Iowa’s 1958 FWAA Title as a shared MNC with LSU, but sane Iowa fans don’t.

If we want to talk about pre ww2 shite, Iowa certainly has national titles. Of those 51 Iowa / Nebraska games you cited, 34 of them took place in the pre ww2 era, with most being pre ww1. Since 1946, Iowa is 9-8 versus Nebraska. Iowa has won the last 6 meetings by a combined score of 208-116. Nebraska has never beat a ranked Iowa team. Iowa has beaten two ranked Nebraska teams.

They were at that level when they got to the big ten. They backed into one CCG in one of their first seasons and proceeded to give up 70 points and 500 yards rushing to an 8 win Wisconsin team that finished 3rd in the division but got the CCG nod because tOSU and PSU were in jail.

The level of play has beat them down and a decade of results illustrates this. They still recruit better than Iowa and Wisconsin based off their legacy. Never translates on the field.

Wow Iowa fans are salty. Iowa fans seem to have replaced Colorado fans as the in conference fan base who seem to be massively triggered by Nebraska's history.

I understand all of that, but what I am looking for is how you really feel about Nebraska.

It’s usually Iowa and Wisconsin fans with the biggest hard ons for Nebraska because a successful Nebraska makes their nearly irrelevant programs completely irrelevant.

They do need to keep Frost though. Firing coaches every few years is no way to run a successful football program and that’s his dream job. He does need to hire some assistants with strong recruiting ties to Texas and Florida though.

Imagine sharing a border with a state whose fans will remind you at every moment of their greatness. I'm sure LSU fans can relate (ahem, Texas) or Mississippi (ahem, Alabama). But now imagine this school has done absolutely nothing for 20 years yet their fans remind you at every turn about how great their teams used to be.

That's what it's like being from Iowa living next door to Husker Fan.

So yeah, we can get salty.

I see. I attended back in the early 00s at the tail end of national relevance and only make it back to a game once every few years.

All the fans I know of course talk about the past but everyone seems to understand the current state of the program, how far it's fallen and the difficulty of ever getting back.
