Seems to me, the ship has sailed on Nebraska ever being able to do that consistently on a national basis anymore.

Could they ever recruit well? They need to get back to the old Tommy Osborne days and start giving everyone steroids

If Wisconsin can do it, Nebraska certainly can.

Their biggest edge, was having all of those gray shirts, and county scholarships for prop48's

Tejas put a stop to that nonsense, and the B1G won't put up with any of it.

In real dollars, they're making more.

What's your point?

them making more money now than in 2011 has absolutely nothing to do with them joining the big 10

There are big cities and highly populated areas all around Madison. There's nothing 500 miles from Omaha/Lincoln. There's a lot of land, but very few people

You might want to look at a map.

You know how I know pretty much no one in this threads knows anything about Nebraska football?

What does the free market have to do with how much revenue Nebraska Football earned in 2011 vs 2017?

I think he'll find the next tier of athletes and make Nebraska a tough team who wins 9 a year and competes for conference titles once every 3-5 years.
Remember, Oregon never recruited that well nationally and still were perrinially relevant on a national scale. With the committtment level to football that Nebraska has, there's no reason they couldn't challenge in a similar way

Denver, St.Louis, and Kansas City are all within 500 miles. Chicago is a little bit over 500.

My point is that Minneapolis, Chicago, st.louis, Kansas City, the entire state of Oklahoma, Denver, etc, etc are all within 500 miles of Lincoln.

Denver is over 500 miles from lincoln, chicago us like 450, same with okc. My main point is that outside of lincoln and omaha, there arent any big cities in Nebraska.

I've lived in Omaha and I've made the drive to Denver. Not much going on in the in between

Nebraska is making $51 million this year. They made $8-$9 per year in the last years of the big 12. Joining the big 10 at the advent of B10 network was the exact reason for that jump in payout.. Big 12 has caught up in recent years but Nebraska wpukd still make significantly less in the big 12

Where do y'all see Nebraska football going in the future? Scott Frost is obviously a great coach. What he did at Oregon and UCF was very impressive. I gave UCF no shot against Auburn and they threw for 250 and rushed for 170 against a very good Auburn defense.

They'll be good. Could definitely see them surpassing Wisconsin and Michigan moving forward.

Can he recruit well? Leftovers from Florida, FSU, and Miami are arguably better than anything he'll find in a 500 mile radius at Nebraska.

Probably won't pull in top 10 classes every year, but I think consistent top 15-20 is definitely within reach.

He'll have ties in Florida. I'm sure Nebraska already recruits Texas prominently. Then add in some of the really good midwest kids in Chicago, KC, etc.

A map shows different.

Ok. The guy said there was nothing within 500 miles. There is plenty within 500 miles, just pointing out that most people don't even know where Lincoln is let alone what is around it.

Agreed. I've never lived there, but I have made the drive. There is most definitely nothing between there.

I said this another thread as well. Nebraska's current recruiting class only has like 2 nebraska natives in it. They can recruit out of state just fine.

Side note, one of the recruits has the same last name as part of my family and is from the same city. Going to have to ask if there is any relation, I doubt it though.

They recruit California pretty well also. Both upcoming QBs were 4 stars out of California.

Flip-flop Denver and Chicago, made a typing error there.

I am the guy that said there was nothing within 500 miles, I should have used a more accurate figure. I can say there is nothing within a 5 hour drive from lincoln. If there was, I would have gone there all the time while I lived in Omaha lol
