That's a shame. He cared more about those wins and the image of his program than he did about children being molested. Its too bad that coward died before the wins were vacated.

He actively and knowingly participated in a conspiracy to rape children. I see the argument as to why the wins should count, but anytime the loathsome name of Joe Paterno arises, someone needs to point out that he actively and knowingly participated in a conspiracy to rape children.

The Paterno family statement was disgusting,

"PSU and Joe has had to shed a black eye BROUGHT ON BY THE NCAA"

frickING bullshite. The blackeye was brought by your father and your school being willing to aid and abet a child rapist. The NCAA may have over reached but the blackeye was your own doing

If the child molestation stuff had come out when it happened he wouldn't have made it to 112.

fricking this. It was the cover-up for the pedo that allowed him to continue.

Reggie Bush is still persona non grata, but a child rape enabler is totally cool.

What they did was nonsensical and unjust to begin with. The Sandusky mess was always a matter for the criminal justice system, not the NCAA. I was disappointed that Penn State didn't fight all the crap the NCAA brought down on them.

Even more amazing when you think about the fact that he knowingly let this criminal molest boys at PSU.

Despite feeling Penn State got off to lightly (they should have been put under the death penalty for 2 years IMO) this is one thing I agree with.
Paterno won those games without cheating. Yes he covered for a rapist but until proven the university committed recruiting violations or that Paterno and co were cheating during games his record should not have been touched. Paterno is a piece of shite but taking away the wins also punishes the players from those teams who did nothing wrong.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees this.

So a coach has several players on the payroll, and everyone is in favor of taking wins away. A coach aids and abets a pedophile on his staff and everyone objects to having his wins taken away. Makes sense.

So a wanna-be sports agent gives money to one player so that player will LEAVE school and go pro, and everyone is favor of taking wins away and losing 30 scholarships. Makes sense.

I continue to be amazed at how the NCAA simply can not get out of its own way.

It's the one organization on the planet where one could credibly claim that if Roger Goodell were in charge, it would run smoother.

Just so you know, I was in no way referring to Reggie or USC. I was pointing out the distorted views of athletics and violations/crimes.
