Iowa State's men's wrestling program has been placed on a year of probation and fined $25,000, among other penalties, after the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions ruled that a booster had impermissible contact with two transfers, one that was not yet in the transfer portal.

They got off light. Iowa self reported an accidental early contact because the early portal rules were vague and they vacated wins, legendary coach was suspended, and they had a 2 week recruiting ban.

With the support they have Iowa should be neck and neck with Penn State every year for the team title but the Brands brothers still hold on to their jobs.
Hindsight's 20/20 but David Taylor would have Carver-Hawkeye rocking as head coach while the Brands keep getting more stale.

The Brands Bros. Have definitely been given preferential treatment by the Admin. They have always been Gables golden boys, as long as Gable is alive he will be calling the shots for Iowa wrestling...
