A few different sites have been compiling comprehensive lists of every NCAA basketball transfer since mid-season. It's pretty absurd.
ESPN
Mid Major Madness (SBNation)

Among the highlights:
-11 players transferring from Central Arkansas
-3 players transferring from Loyola Chicago to IUPUI
-Both Cleveland and JJ Thomas transferring from their respective schools
-Multiple schools losing 3,4, or 5 players to transfer

In addition to 11 players leaving UCA, 3 from Grand Canyon already have said they're following their coach to UCA. That list is pretty nuts.

I was hoping someone familiar with UCA could come in and tell us what in the hell is going on there. The website I linked says they made the best hire in mid majors. I wonder if he looked at the talent and said GTFO or what?

Pretty much. He basically told all of them to go.

ETA: he kept 1 or 2 I think.

I remember something happening with the Thomases and ULL, what's the back story there?

JJ was here for 2 years. He was the sun belt freshman of the year. Got into with our coach too much the next year and transferred. His brother was committed here and that whole thing made him decommit. There's more to the whole story but that's the jist

Most of these transfers are coach induced....they need the player to leave because schollies are so scarce.
Others are through a good player wanting to player for a winner.
Others just to get playing time.
Others are pure tampering.
Of Tulane's last year, 1 was to play for a winner, 1 was obvious tampering, and the rest were basically pushed out.

Yeah, which I support. If you want the guy to succeed he needs to get his own players in there ASAP.

Agreed. I don't really care about Oregon, but Maryland has such a loathsome program and fanbase, it's hilarious to see them losing all these players.

Well, in most cases when a coach is fired and a new coach is brought in, there are multiple philosophical shifts taking place. If the old coach was defensive minded, the new one probably wants to run. If the old coach was a players coach, new one is probably a disciplinarian. Whatever the case may be. Some guys probably don't even need to be told to bounce, they know from the get go that it's not going to work out for them.

So, while I think overall, the transfers are OOC, in the case of coaching turnover, they're mostly justified.
