Pels were pretty much never discussed here until a few of the lower iq fans felt big and bad and came shite all over this board. I agree that the topic is played out. There is no comparison between the teams

I don't make the thread on off days for the Rockets.

Jackie MacMullan, ESPN.com: Does anyone want any part of the New Orleans Pelicans right now? Anthony Davis has muscled himself into the MVP conversation with video game numbers, including a cluster of believable 3-pointers -- not the gawky erector set kind that big men usually launch. Jrue Holiday has sported a 3.67 assist-to-turnover ratio and 25 points and 8.6 assists per game during the team's nine-game winning streak, and New Orleans is 20-14 on the road. Golden State and Houston should avoid the Pels at all costs -- and likely will (if Davis stays healthy) since they have shot up to the No. 4 seed.

Pels had won something like 8 out of 9 and beat the vaunted Rox with Boogie going off. Battling for the six seed at the time iirc.

But yeah. Mediocre.
You're being sensitive. Nothing I said was untrue. They were only a few games over .500 and were fighting for a playoff spot.

I don't think any honest Pels fan would argue that the Pels were anything but mediocre before this streak.

I wasn't even talking shite... I was just honestly assessing the team and the streak. I was even complimenting the team by saying they've been impressive and the only reason they aren't being talked about more is because there is a team with a longer streak currently.

I'd definitely argue that they turned a corner before Boogie went down. They beat the Blazers, Celtics, and Houston in that stretch and while they were only 6 games over .500 they were gelling at the right time.

You at the very least can't say they played medicore ball about 10 games before he got hurt.

That’s a retarded standard. Teams have up and downs throughout a season. It would be idiotic to declare a barely over .500 team to not be mediocre anymore because they won 6 games in a row (3 of which went to overtime if I recall correctly).

But really, that’s beside the point I was making. I was saying the Pels win streak is impressive because most people thought their season was over when Cousins went down.

And we were getting our asses handed to us after boogie went down prior to the streak.

Mediocre isnt far off of what we were prior to the streak

Wouldn't you agree that calling a team on pace to win 46 games "barely over .500" borders on being a bit "idiotic" as you said?

You don't realize how many idiots have this "hot take" that the Pels are better without Boogie. Kinda like the same idiots who think the Wizards are better without Wall.

The Pels were still working on integrating Boogie, they finally got into a groove and he got injured.

It’s crazy watching Portland turn the corner four years straight post ASB. The first time it was the infamous Lillard ASB snub. First or second year, Lillard was infamously snubbed from the ASB team, we open up vs GSW and Lillard goes HAMMM Portland scores like 130 in a huge win. Last year we acquire Nurkic and he boosts us into the playoffs. This year Dame has found that MVP form he’s been capable of. Just big balling his team to victory.

I’d love to see Portland Mach up with OKC. If we win that series maybe Dame has a convo with PG about joining up in Portland?

A man can dream!
