The NBA on TNT is off to a rough start in the ratings.

L.A. teams drawing well

TNT averaged a 0.6 rating and 909,000 viewers for Mavericks-Knicks and a 0.49 and 766,000 for Nets-Nuggets Thursday, marking the network’s sixth-straight NBA games with fewer than a million viewers. Including ESPN, nine games have failed to crack the million viewer mark thus far, compared to 12 all of last season.

Ratings fell 22% and viewership 18% for New York’s win (vs. Rockets-Thunder: 0.7, 1.12M); Denver’s win sank 51% in both measures (vs. Bucks-Warriors: 1.0, 1.57M). Eight of ten TNT games have declined from last year.

On Wednesday night, ESPN averaged a 1.3 rating (-7%) and 1.99 million viewers (-10%) for Warriors-Lakers — marking the fifth-largest audience of the young season. The Lakers have played in three of the top five.

So the general public is finally learning what I learned a long time ago: The NBA is a shitty product with a bunch of shitty people playing in it and running it.

Good hope everyone continues to do their part and not turn it on.

The nba regular season is the dumbest in all of sports. When the playoffs lasts for more than 2 months and literally MOST of the teams in the league make the playoffs, people are going to care less about the regular season.

Do these ratings include streaming or just cable?

As a spurs fan you had better enjoy the regular season bc you won’t be in the playoffs any time soon. And if you happen to sneak in you def won’t be winning much in the postseason. Pop has won his last playoff series. As originally said by me about 3 years ago.

Used to watch NBA all the time. Barely turn on the playoffs nowadays.

Shitty people playing. Bunch of fakes and phonies like LeBron James. Too many people associated are too outspoken about issues they don’t really even understand because they were handed millions at 20 years old. So they never had a chance to understand how the world really works. And instead live in a fantasy world.

In the 90’s and 2000’s all we knew is these guys could play. And they’re fun to watch. And the games were exciting. I couldn’t tell you what reggie Miller thought about anything politically. Or Karl Malone or Shawn Kemp or anybody else. But I did know they put on a great show.

Once you start choosing a side politically in a public forum you are gonna cut off half of the country. And the China thing is probably not helping either

The number of games and the load management movement are doing the most damage. But I also think the player empowerment movement has turned a lot of people off. It’s rooting more for players than it is teams

The people running are smart and the players are taking advantage of the huge amount of money out there. But the 10th guy on the bench doesn't deserve $5 million a year playing just 5 mins a game.

It's about the Lakers and Clippers now. No one else matters.

They got what they wanted

They got all of the star players onto 8 teams, and now they just have to tread water until the playoffs

Pop lost his fastball. In a league that put a premium on efficiency he builds his sqaud around mid range shooter Aldridge and derozan. And I love pop. But I dunno what he has been thinking.

I know this isn't scientific or anything, but 24 upvotes to 4 downvotes indicate that I am not the only person who feels this way.

It’s nothing to me. I don’t see why someone would care either way.

I don’t like the mlb so I don’t give a shite about the ratings.
