The nba regular season is the dumbest in all of sports. When the playoffs lasts for more than 2 months and literally MOST of the teams in the league make the playoffs, people are going to care less about the regular season.

Uhm....Dude. I asked a question about economics and the tipping point where revenue loss cuts into profitability. You gave me a good answer, but then added a little bitch comment. So GFY.

This last one is their last big deal

Unlike NFL and MLB, who continue to rake in record revenues, the NBA is a glass house, and the windows are beginning to break.

Oh, it won't fade away. But it's day as trying to compete with Top2, are over.

No young super star power. Lebron was it, and there isn't one to replace him.

Stay tuned....Here comes Mr Perfect to call you "dude" and prop up the shitty NBA.

Which, I could care less about other than Mr Perfect being such a douchebag that I now feel like arguing about something I don't care about.

Says a lot about me.....I know.

Who is going to pay? The biggest audiences for sports are here in the US.

It won’t be ABC and Turner with how cutting the chord is going. I’m sure they’ll offer, but it won’t be the mammoth deal they have now.

It also doesn't help when you nationally televise all 82 Warrior games so we have the joy of watching Draymond and a team full of journeymen and rookies take on the Western Conference

This. I know markets play a factor but I really do not give a shite about the shitty teams in the big markets. I cannot tell you the last time I turned on a Knicks game that didn’t include my team. I know the warriors were going to be a fun team to watch this year but they could’ve dialed back how much they’d be featured. They were always going to be an injury away from fringe playoffs to bottom of the league.

League Pass is awful so that doesn't help.

It also doesn't help when you nationally televise all 82 Warrior games so we have the joy of watching Draymond and a team full of journeymen and rookies take on the Western Conference. We got stuck with way too many LeBron-less Laker games last year. Even as a Pelicans fan, the national audience doesn't get to watch their main draw with Zion out. They need to balance and flex some of the scheduling to improve on that.

The easy answer is to just go to flex scheduling. The NBA is usually ahead of the times with marketing its product. NBA is really behind on this one.

it's bad optics to analyze nightly tv ratings on a lg which literally has games everyday, anyways.

overall trends are what matter.. not some random game vs junk Knicks and junk wizards

they need to cut at least 20 games out of the regular season, no more back to backs either. hopefully that would eliminate a lot of load management

people need to get their league pass and tune in here 3 nights a week. Bc it has never been done and probably never will be again tbt.

quote:

Harden is averaging a shade under 40 points per game on 61 percent true shooting percentage. This is basically impossible as only one player in history has scored even 35 points per game with a true shooting percentage above 60 percent: James Harden, last year. The next highest is Michael Jordan at 56 percent.

A lot of big name players are sidelined with injuries to begin the season--more than any other year I can remember.
